i bought a jewelery box a while ago for like a dollar. its black and came with 4 little wooden high heel shoes glued to the top of it. i took them off and want to cover the top with something but i can't decide what. i was thinking of breaking some mirrors and glueing the pieces all over it. i was also thinking of maybe just decoupaging something on it.

any suggestions? i didnt really find anything in the memories that i was into.

thank yoooou!

Not sure why I made this purse, except that the fabric was really cool and I love the beaded fringe. Made out of a doubled-up quilter's square from JoAnn's. :)

'Oriental' flair )
And then I made some pajamas for my iPod, because he deserves it. Made out of fleecy stuff. And a whistle, you know, just in case I have to have an impromptu rave...

Hello, I'm a long time reader first time poster (thanks for the most part to my awesome friend who took the pictures)

This was my first attempt at reading a picture pattern for crochet (rather than the written patterns) so I kinda made a shawl up on the lamb for a friend of mine.  Hope you enjoy!

Edit: Fixed and properly cut this time

Hello, first post. As a housewarming gift, I made a tea cozy for a friend. I used quilting material for the outside and inside and thin poly batting (enclosed between the two layers of material) for insulation.

Get cozy! )

I've been sick with sinus stuff for a week now, and this weekend I took off and spent the entire time on the couch with movies, a box of tissues, and my sewing kit. My school puts on this "show" that has a theme and the sororities and frat's each have skits and they are judged on them. This years' theme is "the classics" and my sorority is doing Gulliver's Travels and they needed an anchor for the boat that they can throw around and not hurt anyone. so...

It's an anchor! )

I took this photo the other day of my cockatiels. It's a "through the viewfinder" photo--I used my digital camera and shot through the viewfinder of an old duaflex IV medium format camera. I love the look and it's a fun photo of my cockatiels.

To see more info on "through the viewfinder" photos, here is a wonderful tutorial so you can give it a try. I have found with my digital camera, I have better luck using close-up filters attached to my digital camera. Otherwise it's hard getting a close enough shot.

If you'd just like to see more cool TtV shots, check out the Through the Viewfinder group on Flickr. That's where I learned about it. I think the results of photographing things this way are fantastic.
