A while ago someone posted a link to get a free subscription to Ready Made. I filled out the form and forgot all about it. I just received 2 copies in the mail. So thank you to whoever posted that link.

I made these as a prototype for a customer, but I think they're just so darned cute that I will probably make some more for myself, too! (Bottle cap included for size)

(ps they're lampwork glass)

So I just moved back to new orleans (yAy!) this month and i just finished getting all my crafts unpacked.

Today is a nice day for hand spinning so I went outside with my wheel and sat on my stoop

hi, i'm casey. i've never posted here before, but i keep making stuff, so i finally had [livejournal.com profile] twenty6colors show me how to post pictures.

i made some silk pants for my trip to jamaica. the "keepin it rural" shirt doesn't go well with them, but you get the idea.

i just used some wide leg pj pants as a pattern, but i put the drawstring on the side, because i hate having the lump from the tie in the front.

There were a few pieces of reinforced canvas in the remnant bin, so I grabbed this one and an orange/brown stripe. The latter is destined for tote and knitting bag, and this little piece became a practice tote that cost me a whopping $2 all told. Mystic is very pleased with it.

Cross-posted to [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl and my journal.

For our second anniversary (COTTON!) we have decided to take a quilting class together. We're in NYC, specifically brooklyn, but we don't mind traveling.

Do any of you have a particular place you love? What do you hear about the Etsy warehouse thingy?

Recommend a place to take a class, please!

I tend to create little summer projects for myself every summer. Last summer I got my massage therapist license at a community college and the summer before the daunting task of a sweater (which I ended up finishing before the start of my senior year, September 2005). Well this summer I decided that I was going to be the best fraturnity sweetheart ever and knit my boyfriend's fraturnity a blanket that they could hang up in the window of their house, use on their couch, or hang up on the wall of their house (which will be a brand new house by August of this year.

I'm just having alittle bit of an issue of a pattern to pick or a design to use. I definatly want to use it in the fraturnity colors (purple, green, gold), I'm at the point of indecisive-ness (not a real word but it fits!) on whether or not that I want to use the crest (http://www.lambdachi.org). I definatly want the letters on the afghan.

Any help is greatly appriecated. Ive looked online at greek stores that specilize in making blankets and the details are soo intrecet. And I have untill August to finish it. Pattern suggestions are greatly appriecated.

Thanks so much in advance!!

x-posted: alot of places!

Hey guys,
I made a cupcake pin!!!

I was thinking I should make a tote bag later with a cupcake. Of course it would be better looking than this. What else can I do with said cupcake?

This is the other dress I've made recently (it's like a polar opposite of the short fitted 60s-esque other one).

The waist and top of the dress are elasticated with thick elastic; its stretchiness is what keeps the dress on! The waist is elasticated all the way round, while the top is only elasticated at the back so it lays flat at the front.
