I was bored and needed something to go with what I was wearing so I threw this together. The broach looking center piece is actually a huge button.

I stayed up all night making a purse, and it's the nicest one I've ever done! The others have pretty much just been totes. Of course this is basically just a differently-shaped tote, but shush, it looks way cooler than a tote.

I've been sitting on this fabric, which I got at a charity sale, for like two years now. I love it. A lot. I still have yards of it left, too!

Hello - I've been lurking around for a little while, but haven't posted anything. But now I've made something I just have to share!

The very first jumper that I have ever made! (If this sentence compared to the picture above confuses you, I'll provide a handy Australian-to-American glossary: Australian jumper = American sweater, or close enough. Now we can understand each other. Yay!)

It's Magknits' Alice jumper, knitted in Patons Totem wool.

Like to see a few more pictures? )

Seeing as I'm here, I'd also like to say that I really enjoy reading this community and seeing all the wonderful things people have made. So thank you everyone!

I'll probably be tired of it someday, but why did nobody tell me that button making was fun?! Or maybe I just think it's really exciting to see my drawings in button form! And now I want to draw new things specifically for this. I have to share my joy with you:

(This set is my favourite.. I really like skulls.)

I have a TON of those flat clear glass marble (about 1 inch) that you make the marble magnets out of. I only use the really good ones to make necklaces out of (I put pictures behind them) the ones with flaws in them however I have no real use for, I was trying to think of something I could cover them with or paint them with so that they can be made into necklaces as well. But I can’t seem to think of a thing! Can you great crafty people come up with something I can do with them (besides putting them in a vase and setting them around)? Thanks

I'm planning on making a laptop sleeve out of this quilted fabric that I have, but I wanted to also have a liner! I've been looking through craftster.org and craftgrrl's memories. I've tried Google too, but sometimes I just can't figure out what terms to use to get what I want. (I don't want anti-static cream. *angry fist at search results*)

I have this pink cotton flannel that I wanted to use. But can't cotton get staticky too? I also have some white broadcloth that I'm pretty sure never gets staticky (I've had to fold it numbers and numbers of times when I used to work at a fabric store)... I don't know if I'm mistaking the cotton flannel for the polyester fleece, which definitely gets staticky...

Anyway, I'd like to ask if you guys know of the static properties of cotton flannel. :P

Or any other suggestions. I was thinking of using the nylon(?) fabric used for windbreakers, but I'd have to go out and buy that, and I'd rather do some stashbusting instead.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hello everybody,
Trying to clean out my room, I realized I have jars and jars of old pony beads lying around. It seems like a shame to throw them out, and yet I honestly can't think of any use for them. I used to bead constantly as a kid and I'm still pretty crafty, so if I could think of any way to use them I could probably do it pretty easily, but I don't wear much jewelry of any kind. I sew, but I'm hard pressed to think of a way to incorporate them into clothing that wouldn't look silly.

Basically, I think they're pretty ugly, and I'd love to find a way to make them useful without pretending they have any aesthetic value. Or, if anyone has any experience with melting them down, the only thing I can think of to make is coasters since it would be easy to repurpose something as a mold. If there's even any household task it seems like they'd be useful for, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks in advance, if you have any ideas!

So there is this light table listed on Craigslist... and I would of course like to buy it.
My husband and I screen print and have been looking for a new lighting rig.

It takes fluorescents...2 of them... what would I need to do to it inorder to make it put out enough light to burn a screen?

(we've been doing it the old fashioned way outside with the sun)
