I adopted my baby in December
And I knew he should have a kitty house
I was about to spend $100 on a pretty lame one with only one story
Until my mama insisted we try our hand at it first
After all, it's just wood and carpet.

It came out AWESOME and it only cost me $5.
Yes, that's right. $5.

Alright, this is the teaser photo:

I so hate carrying a bag in the summer, I don't care how cute it is. I just finished a new project that I've been meaning to get to for a while now.

Here are my new card holders. I can stick an ID in it, debit card maybe some business cards.

Help crafty ladies!!!

I am trying to set up a shop on Etsy and well, it's being fussy. I don't even have anything to sell, so this isn't a selling post. this is a post about needing help creating a banner! can anyone do this? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Toss pillows can be a little spendy and I can't seem to always find what I need,

Hey there, I'm new!

My name's Susan and I'm from Canadar (Toronto, to be specific). While I'm not a 365-day a year crafty girl, I do have bursts of inspiration where I decide that I am a brilliant knitter, sewer, general craft-er! Maybe some of your posts will inspire me to be a 365daycraftgrrl ;)

Unfortunately, my joining has an ulterior motive. The community info didn't say anything about this not being allowed, so hopefully it's okay. If not, please feel free to delete it.

There's this boy I love. A very good friend who I downright love and have loved for four years. Due to the fact that he's engaged to be married, we can't be together. Unfortunately, love isn't rational & just doesn't die.

Said boy races cars and last night gave me a piece of a car that I helped him track down, as a thank you for my help(he needed some parts off it and I got him a great deal). Cars are such a big part of him, and he is such a big part of me that I want to carry it around with me always.

When I say that I want to carry it around always, I don't mean in my coin purse or back pocket ... I want to make something from it. Under the cut are photos of the item, and a plea for your opinions on what I could make.

follow the yellow brick .. er ... cut )

Thanks!

[edit] I cannot BELIEVE IT!! I left the thing in my jeans which went through the washer and dryer today!! It's still intact but it's all banged up now. What can I spread over this piece to seal it off and keep all the plastic/metal bits in place? Like a clear liquid or gel that would set?

It's nothin' amazing, but I was so excited when I thought of the blood droplet idea. It's a faceted Czech glass bead, but since then I've picked up these gorgeous red glass beads that are tear-drop shaped, perfect for this.

So i started this yesterday, and finished it yesterday. It's made of a black soft fabric. And it has pockets. 2 in seam pockets on the front, and 2 PASPELpockets on the back (yes i'm proud :p)

Pattern by me ( of course :p )

So, my lovely friend/sister-in-law split up with my brother about two and a half years ago. She was helping me learn to sew and we were making an apron together just for fun. Well, when she moved I figured she took the apron stuff with her because it was her material and everything. It seemed insignificant to what else was going on in her life to even think of that, so I figured I would just forget about it too.

A week ago, or so, I found a box that I thought was her stuff in my storage building. I looked inside the box and found my apron pieces! Along with that I found a wonderful note from her telling me that we'd always be friends and if I had trouble putting the apron together to call her.

In the past year I've bought myself a new sewing machine and I've been creating little things...nothing as cute as my new apron!!

So, I've been crafting like mad for a HUGE family gathering on Sunday to celebrate two birthdays, one graduation, Father's Day, and my parents anniversary.

My wrists/hands in general are KILLING ME.

Question: how do all you crafters keep from getting crazy carpal tunnel? I'm already getting arthritis in all my joints (knowledge learned thanks to my doctor!) but...sheesh, that's not gonna stop me from being a crafty gal.

I'm about to start on a painting for my sister, finish a pinata for my niece, and attach pendants I made to ribbon necklaces for them....ahh! lol

btw, thanks to the craftgrrl, who's username I cannot recall right this second, that posted a Boots Pinata awhile ago - I totally stole the idea just for my niece..lol

here's where it's at right now.. )

This is Miss chocolate Soft Ice Cream, the most misunderstood ice Cream in the world. With Mr. Waffle Cone, she is the star. People can't have enough of her. When she is alone, people avoid her. She does not understand. She does not understand why kids will point at her and say, "POOP!"

She said, "No! Come on! Poke me! I'm soft and cold! Not warm!" But nobody dares to do so.

She said, "Come on! Lick me! I'm sweet and tasty!" Again nobody wants to try.

She is now sad. She is crying and sniffing. Or... is she asking you to give her a sniff? To prove that she is not... what you think she is?

Need more proof? )

Thought that I would share with you crafty people a couple of jewellery items that I have made, a pendant and a dangly beaded bracelet.

The base for this pendant is a piece of balsa wood that I sanded and rounded the corners, then I added paint, after that was dry I wrapped copper tape around the wood base and then soldered the hanger onto the top and soldered around the tape only because I wanted it to be silver and not copper in colour.  Next I added the graphics and metal embellishment, silver spiral dangles and rhinestones.  The eye that is in the middle of the pendant is actually raised, you can't see it very well in the photo.

...one more... )
