I'm seeing the midnight showing tomorrow omg YAY.

So, riding on the wave of HP crafts that have been on here lately, here is what I made for the Countdown to HP swap on craftster. I can't post it there yet as my partner has not yet received. Boo :(

HP items! LOTS O' PICS (if you are Cosmic_Girl on craftster then stay away!) )

What is this? It's a memory game of memories I made for my boyfriend/us for our 4 year anniversary. This image is 1/2 of the set--the other 1/2 being identical to these shown. I printed a bunch of squares onto watercolor paper and painted 12 images of things that relate to my boyfriend, 12 that relate to me, and 12 that relate to us. Then I went to Kinkos and made color copies, bought paper for the bottom from the paper source, and laminated everything at Kinkos.

I'm also an art teacher and did this as a sample art project.

Okay I need TONS of help! I posted a while back about a green shirt, and TONIGHT IS HP WHICH I'M SURE EVERYONE KNOWS (sorry I'm excited and in pain and drinking MT Dew and all that good stuff). I have shirts to cut up for lettering and all that, I just DON'T KNOW WHAT TO PUT ON MY SHIRT. My best friend that I'm going with is using "Hermione for President '08" but I don't want to copy her.
So if you guys have any ideas for short and sweet, that'd be great! Thanks in advance!

One I really like. The other Im not too fond of it but one of the ladies I works with wants it

I'm at a biological station this summer, taking and ecology class, and in one of the buildings they have a shelf everyone throws their stuff on labeled 'free', that anyone can take. I just picked up a nice wooden cigar box, minus the lid, and am curious as to what you ladies might suggest I do with it?

Also, I spilled red food coloring on my light blue sheets (another science related mishap), and this seems like the community with the know-how on getting such a disaster out of my sheets?

So this isn't text only, here's a link to a site with about a million free bead patterns, all in pdf form and all very nice:

Thanks!

Animals

I've known about this community for about six months, but I finally decided to join in on the fun :] A friend gave me a link to this place in December when I was looking for an easy silk screening tutorial. That led me to check out everything. Looking at all of these great creations put me in a crafty mood, so I made this little guy out of socks.

That was my first atempt to make a stuffed animal. Since then I've made two more.

This heat is killing me, I want Spring back or I'd even take Fall right now. So I'm trying to think Spring.

So, my friend is a Roller Girl with the Tampa Bay Derby Darlins and she's incredibly difficult to buy for because of her eclectic tastes that are constantly changing.

So, for her birthday in two weeks, I decided to make her something instead. Something interesting that would be totally kickass and in tune with her personal taste.

What did I decide to make, you ask? A pillow.
But not just any pillow, mind you. A derby girl pillow.

I found a pattern at Sublime Stitching and changed it up a bit, adding my own touches (for personalization) while I learned to embroider as I went... and then I found this amazing fabric at JoAnn's (though I really wanted something with flaming rollerskates, this works even better)...

and came up with this bit of awesome )

I would REALLY love to learn how to do primitive stitchery. It doesn't seem all that hard but I would really like the advice of someone who has tried it.

What kinds of materials work best?
Where is the best place to find patterns?

Any help would be appreciated.

hot pants

I need to make a pair of hot pants (meaning the lil tiny shorts) out of non-stretchy material with a zipper. Anyone have any free patterns or tutorials for that? Even recommendations for a pattern I could buy at a fabric store would be good or ideas on how to make my own. Help, please! :)

PS: They're going to be part of a burlesque costume along with lots of fringe and sequins. I'm not nutty enough to wear these out in public as part of any regular outfit.

my first attempt at making earrings )

i've seen some really awesome jewelry on here so if anyone could show me some of their stuff or give me ideas for designs that would be cool. links and tutorials would be terrific :]

Can't go wrong with a pinhead pin cushion? I think pinhead would love you sticking needles in him.

I just recently got a 1996 Star Wars paint-by-number poster off of Ebay.

Some of the paint is still wet and functioning, while others are dried.

I'm pretty sure this is acrylic paint? I'm not familiar with the paint used for paint-by-number sets.

Does anyone know a way that I could revive the paint?

Thanks in advance!

I'm having a little trouble, and I'd love if I could get some help.

I'm cosplaying as Rosa from FFIV for an anime convention coming up in August. I'm trying to make a skirt, but I am a complete failure at anything sewing.

I am trying to make this ) kind of a skirt but I'm not even sure it's possible. I want that flowy effect. I assume I would need a pattern - but do they even make patterns for these kinds of skirts? I'm a complete n00b at this, real sorry.

Welll, thanks for your help. =]
