Still My Guitar Gently Weeps
Jul. 23rd, 2007 11:06 amA couple of months ago, I went to a yard sale that had a whole jug full of guitar picks (all the same design: George Harrison's signature with an om symbol). I bought three of them (a total of 75 cents).
I didn't know what I wanted to do exactly, but I knew I'd be making earrings and a necklace.
Well, Friday night, I whipped the earrings together with a simple hook earring and chain and some jump rings.

I also went ahead and punched three holes into the third pick to make the necklace.
( see it behind the cut )

i was ever so immensely proud of this one, though the bits i was most pleased with were the bits i didn't manage to capture in pictures - but i assure you that her skirt gathers and poofs brilliantly in the back. and that she has legs.
ingrediants: the usual bits of sculpey, more wire than usual (hoop skirts you know!), fabric and odds and ends and poofy-things-for-hair
( two more pictures )
looking for...
Jul. 23rd, 2007 04:10 pm... a wooden head form. I'm not even really sure what I should be searching for - basically i'm looking for a head made out of wood to build masks on. anyone have any thoughts on where i might find something like that? or what it would be called?
thanks for your help!

Jul. 23rd, 2007 06:57 pmI finally took pics of the dress I made. Very easy pattern ladies - cut and sew in about 4 hours, no zippers or buttons.
Also some cards and a fun interchangeable earrings idea. Lookie

Amigurumi Cheese-kun (from Code Geass)
Jul. 23rd, 2007 08:54 pmI did it! I crocheted Cheese-kun as a gigantic amigurumi! He is smaller than 'life-size' (as compared to the huggable plush that C.C. has), but he is good huggable size for me! For those who don't know, Cheese-kun is a mascot for Pizza Hut in Japan, and has been seen numerous times in the anime, Code Geass - as a prize that C.C. has won from eating a lot of pizza. ^o^ My amigurumi plush Cheese-kun measures approximately 15" tall, and 9" wide.
See here and here and here for screencaps.
I'll be sharing the crochet pattern!! I've jotted down some rough notes that need to be cleaned up, but comment in my Flickr or here in my LJ and I will keep you all posted!

Craft Studio
Jul. 23rd, 2007 08:58 pm
As I’ve been ranting about all my various home remodeling projects, I’ve totally forgotten to post before-and-after pics of my craft studio. This room was formerly a very dark red. In fact, the before photos make the room appear much brighter than it was. It was dark and depressing. I wanted to covert the room to a brighter color and also install shelves on the wall opposite my computer equipment. This is also the first time my beloved Krishna prints have been framed and displayed. I have so much art and home décor items, I could change rooms around a hundred times and never have to buy anything but paint! The room still needs a bit of work. The empty shelves will be populated by all of my craft and art supplies at some point soon. I want to make special boxes for that stuff. Also, I’m purposefully NOT showing the floor in the after photos. I tore up the ratty carpet in here and just have exposed pine planks. I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing with the floor yet. So, here you go!
This is what the room looked like before.
This is the new room.
Drum Roll!
Jul. 23rd, 2007 09:26 pmI’m also finally ready to show before-and-after pics of the bathroom! I’m still not finished affixing stars to the ceiling but could be doing that for years to come given the current rate or progress. Ugh! It’s slow going. But it looks cool. This is the first time that I’ve gotten all the photos together into one folder. It’s really just not the same room at all. I can hardly even remember the old room now.

Lemme know if there are any mistakes anywhere. This is my first time writing a pattern. Hell, this is my first time to even crochet something without a pattern! lol
