I can't remember if it was here or [info]sew_hip, but someone was asking how to decrease the width of a shirt's shoulders so the sleeve seams didn't hang all the way down by her elbows.  I mentioned I'd taken in an XL sweatshirt and decreased the shoulders, exactly as she desired, and now I finally have the pics uploaded.  So even though this isn't something I would normally feel inclined to display, I thought I'd share it here to demonstrate the possibilities in sleeve-shortening, without touching the armscyes and wrist hems.

Guess what!  Verbosity filter is DISENGAGED!  :-D

And cross-posted to[info]sew_hip
, of course.

I forgot to take a picture of the "before," but I'm sure you can imagine...it was a brown abercrombie hoodie, which looked pretty much like this:

My fiancé used to work for Abercrombie's corporate office and got it at a sample sale for $1. It had a small hole on the back, which I was able to get rid of when I altered it.

I ment to stencil the whole thing at first but I'm a sucker for leopard print dammit.. the cogs I ended up painting freehand.

The ribbon is attatched with fabric glue, but i've never really used it before and i'm not too sure how long that will last with washing etc..

i should probably stop being lazy and stitch it, but does anyone have any experience with small attatchments like this using fabric glue? how did they hold up?

I was cleaning out my basement and came across some very old littlest pet shop fish, so I decided to make charms out of them!!

Apologies to the person who originally posted the idea here, I can't find the original post. That's what I get for not using the memories feature in LJ.

This project is one where I had a great idea after I'd done it. I mean, you could have little cases of 'types' of spells - a case with the dark mark on it for evil spells, things like that. But live and learn, this is what I have for now:

More pictures here! )

I've searched the archive and done the LJ Seek thing, and I can't find any information on how to frame a canvas painting so I hope someone can help me.
