I was looking through the memories on here and noticed that there was NOTHING on making your own custom shoes.

So, I have this book that I got about 2 years ago on how make your own Lasts, Shoes, Sandal and it's wicked cool.

The author is Mary Wales Loomis

and here is her website....there's a run-through on how it's done.

The books is pretty good...I just don't have the right space to be making shoes from scratch at the time....plus I have a lotta shoes...

Does anyone have some good ideas for displaying handbags and totes besides throwing them on a table? :) Thanks!

I'm supposed to work from home on Fridays, but today my remote desktop wasn't working. Such a shame! This means I got to craft all day and use up some of the awesome charms/buttons I've had lying around.

At one point I saw a really really cute pattern for a chicken hat. I can't remember if it was knit or crochet, but it looked like a plucked chicken with drumsticks. I thought I had it bookmarked, but don't. Do you? I'd love to find that again.

Okay, so I bet all of you all can do this with your eyes closed but I made my first ever crochet project tonight using Ana Paula's Pablito the Penguin pattern that she has free on her blog.

I modified it basically out of necessity since I had no black yarn. I put some tufts at the top to hide some rather loose stitches and I added some top sticthing with embroidery floss to make the feet look better since I had no clue what I was doing with the half double crochet stitch but I know I did it wrong!!!!

We were all pretty pleased though. "We" being my cats, husband and I. Because even if it's kinda messed up, cute things are still cute and they make you smile. My advice is don't be afraid to try it. They're quick to make but rather satisfying when you're done. And everyone knows someone with a little kid who'd like it if you don't want them cluttering your house (or your fruit bowl.)

This may be an out there question to ask, since I checked the memories and didn't see anything about shoes or boots anywhere, but I was wondering if anyone knows how I could perhaps make or reconstruct boots so they would look like these?
