Something I saw on [livejournal.com profile] steamfashion that I thought some of you might enjoy:

I've seen some people on here with projects that had been Goccoed? Made with a Gocco? I'm not sure what part of speech that is...but I thought you might enjoy this article, from yesterday's NY Times on it, and its comeback.

And now I want one, badly. Can anyone who has one tell me a little more than I can get on the company website? Worth it? Are you in love with it?

Alright, I've looked through the memories, but they don't seem to have the answers I'm looking for.
I have an adhesive question.

Yesterday the bf's sister and I spent a good 2 or so hours gathering pretty leaves from trees and preserving them via microwave for me to use in an upcoming art project.
Well today I went to attempt said art project, and found myself immeasurably frustrated.

I have an old piece of foam-core board that I painted, and now want to attach my leaves to.
I tried mod-podging them, but that just isn't working.
I have a hot glue gun, but I'm afraid that the high direct heat will either brown the leaves, or make them mushy.

What (if anything) can I use to attach them?

And so this isn't text-only:

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.
I promise to post pics when it's done!

What do you use to cut out fairly large circles so that they are even with no ridges? Roughly a circle the size of Connect Four piece?

Thanks!

Dearest Craft Grrrls-

I just wanted to post that I involved in a mixtape penpal group that is always open for people to join, as long as they have intrests in mixtapes and are dependable enough to meet a once a month deadline. Once a month, members get an email from me with someone elses address and a due date, and have before that date to make and mail them a tape. They end up getting a tape in the mail also from a different member. It is cassette tape only. If anyone is interested in signing up, please email me all4choice@hotmail.com

Hey all you crafty babes!

I need your opinions on something...
I'm working a couple plushies to submit to a contest, the other ones I had no problem with my ideas, but this one I'm kinda stuck on.
What'd you think? )

What's a good way to hide eyebrows?

That probably sounds like a strange question. This year, I'm dressing up as the Bride of Frankenstein for Halloween. When I dress up, I really, really get into it. I like to be as accurate as possible. Before Halloween, I like to watch horror movies and study my character's movements and things so I can be spot on. Etc, etc.

Anyway the point is that I really have to be Elsa Lanchester, and in the movie, the ends of her eyebrows went up. My eyebrows do not point upwards, but they need to learn how. I'm dedicated to pulling off my costume well, but I'm not quite dedicated enough to pluck over a half an inch off the ends of my eyebrows. (I'd like to not look like a loony once November gets here.)

What would be the best way to cover my natural eyebrows so that I can draw them on as pointy? I could cover them in the makeup I'll be using for my face, but I'm not sure how well that would come out. I'm thinking you'd still be able to see quite a bit of texture. I remember hearing somewhere a long time ago that some drag queens use soap for the same effect? I don't really know how that would work, though.

Basically, I don't want to draw on eyebrows and then have my natural eyebrows all crazy and visible as well. Forked eyebrows are not good! Any ideas?

As the fire in Lake Arrowhead and the Cajon Pass raged on, I sat at home worried about my parents and little brother who had spent the night down the hill. The last I'd spoken to them, they had planned on taking the 2 hour trip back home on Monday morning -- the day major freeways were closed off and people were being evacuated.

As I lay safe in my room, I cried and prayed and turned to clay to keep my shaking hands busy. This is the result.

They are now home and safe; I can only hope to God other families are as lucky as I am.

I've tried every type of glaze, glue and sealant I can find (even clear nail polish), and NOTHING covers an ink jet printer image without making the ink run. I'd be SO grateful if anyone could point me to a substance that glazes but doesn't bleed the colors on printer images. THANKS!
