Hello my crafty comrads. ^_^

I've been working painfully long hours on my Halloween costume. Seriously. This thing has given me alot of grief.

But...I finished it. And I am quite happy with it. ^_^

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows of tutorial sites/has their own suggestions on how to make realistic-looking dread wigs? I dont mean those cyber-goth ones that are usually spun wool, but something that looks like actual hair, like this. Would it be a good idea to buy a halloween wig and actually dread it up / would it look like that, or is there soem other product I need to buy? The one there looks more spiral/coiled than dreaded, and i wouldnt know hwo to go about doing that on wig hair, either?

Okay so there might be an actual term for these.

I've been carrying around this ancient one I assume my mom made years ago (a friend and her used to make them as a hobby) that was two seconds away from deteriorating. So, boredom and genius struck, and my fabric o'plenty bff and I decided this would be a fun project to see if they could sell at our upcoming First Fridays (Nov 2nd). This is what we came up with thus far.

Here is one of many things my wife does that make me smile. I'm not really into 'cute' but I love her stuff.

Any of you ladies (and gents?) have a good way to temporarily bond fake flower petals to a pair of glasses? I want to be able to remove them easily after Halloween. I'm thinking of regular Elmer's glue, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. Help?

And so this isn't just text... Here's a cake I made!:

this is a

What can i do with this??

post.

i just scored some pretty carpet samples. they're smaller than i'm used to, each a foot square, but they're 100% wool, soft, w/ classic oriental rug patterning.

i've got 13 of them, half reddish, 1/4 gold/green, 1/4 blue. they each have a grommetted hole in a corner for carrying in a sample book. each square is bound nicely.

these are sweet! much too nice to just throw out, right?

ideas?

More gold!

I can't be stopped. LOL

I ended up finding some other thread closer to the color of the gold glitter vinyl and just wanted some opinions as to if it looked better than my previous post.

Thanks all!

Oh and I'll post my crafty costume for the zombie walk when I'm finished with it. =)

My Halloween costume. I've been working on it for the last couple of weeks - even more than I've been working on homework. Oops...
I chose to be the Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland, which is my favorite Disney movie.
I modified a Simplicty pattern (3685) and recovered a cheap costume hat to make it the Mad Hatter's.

Nintendo Cosplay

Myself as Cooking Mama, and my friend Cesar as Fire Mario, posing by someone's Nintendo Wii remote costume. ^-^ Technically, my costume counts as Project #41 for 50 crafty projects in 2007!

I put together the costume on Wednesday and wore it Thursday night for our school's J-Club Halloween Film Night. There's a ton more photos from the event in my Flickr. A couple more of me as Cooking Mama hiding in there as well.

Ok guys, my costume is finally finished.  It's got some flaws- the back is longer than the front and as you guys know I had some major problems with the zipper!  All in all I think it turned out well.  What do you guys think!??
