Squid pumpkin!

Made with a linoleum carver and lots of cuts on my hands. :(

My co-admin at work and I are big buddies (and co-face stabbers), so I decided to make her a little something non-tooth enamel removing to go along with all of the candy treats that I bought to surprise her with.

Hence, MONSTER!!!

Sorry about the previous post (which was deleted by mods, thank you!). I meant to post to another community with a very similar name - not post my ads here. I WAS, however, going to post this purse I made out of cardstock and tape.

Here's one I made using those stencils that come in those pumpkin carving kits (with the cool mini pumpkin saws and such) I always have to make the hardest one in the book because i'm crazy like that and I always think they look the coolest!

You can't really see ANYTHING with the regular photo but I thought I'd share it anyways.

It took wayyyyy too long (just tracing the stencil with the dots and figuring it out since all the lines were so close together was a pain in the a$$. Once I got that though the actual carving took less than 1 hour)

There was only one thing my son wanted to be for Halloween, and naturally, there's no way I could pick one up at the store. Thus, I had to dust off the sewing machine and make one: )

Hi all!  I am brand spankin' new to this livejournal thingy.  I love it!  I am looking to be crafty this holiday season and wondered if someone could help with some glue issues?  What is the best glue for felt on felt and felt on paper adhesive?  I have not had luck at all.  Most of it seeps through or gets clumpy!  Thanks everyone and BOOOO!

I figure I might as well add to the pumpkin fun!

I had big plans this year, alas I couldn't find the right pumpkins and my computer opted to die last night.

Anyway, I quickly made an Elmo pumpkin last night for the kidlets that I nanny for:

and a haunted mansion themed pumpkin for my Halloween party last weekend:

For my Halloween party last weekend, I made my own gravestones for our front yard:

A few more shots are here.

They are modeled after the gravestones that surround the Haunted Mansion ride in Disneyworld. I used 2" thick styrofoam insulation from Lowe's, some old pottery tools for carving and latex paint (other kinds of paint may eat away at the styrofoam).

This is the tutorial I used, in case anyone is interested. There are also some nice tutorials here. I'll probably add my own tutorial eventually...just wanted to share some pictures of my final product! :)

Hello!  I have never posted here before, but I love seeing what everyone is making!  I am working on a portfolio to apply to an art school to major in crafts (ceramics, glass, metals, fibers, etc) They told me not to worry too much about the portfolio- but I am!  I don't have a background from school in art, I just always have been doing it- teaching myself along the way.  This entire process has been kind of stressful because I don't really know what they are expecting!  So, with all that said- with all that disclaimer out there- I am posting a link to an album of the images I have edited and re-edited and re-re-edited- it is closer to being done that ever- but I am looking for feedback, constructive criticism from you- the experts!!  One tip is they told me that it is better to have 10 quality pieces vs. 20 so-so ones- so look it over and please let me know what you think!!!  Thank you sooo much in advance!!

Hey all, this is a two part post. One I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!

Second I've made a zombie plush, it is adorable and snuggly. Just watch out for his mouth he'll bite!

That is one of my pumpkins I carved.

Here are the Shrinky Dinks I finished. I used the spray sealant which worked pretty well. Bob Barker got a little smudged but I'm still pretty happy with them.

baby costume: i saw a pattern for something similar & said to myself "self, you can not spend $15 on the pattern alone." so i used fabric scraps i had to alter his sweatshirt (so he's a duquesne mouse) & cheap-o remnants to wing the cheese cover for his stroller. go me. just don't look too closely at my stitching job on the cheese circles. i was lazy.

not bad for 1 hour & $3 )
