I have been lurking around for awhile and now I decided it is time to do a little posting. So HI everyone! I had some fabric leftover from some curtains I made for my kitchen, so I made a little tote bag.

I also had a wreath I had made for Halloween and totally forgot it was on my front door.

Pictures behind the cut. Sorry for the bad quality, I had to use my phone for these and can take better ones later.

First off, i've posted a version of this on Craftster, so hopefully this is not a repeat for too many of you. i also apologize, for this will be long-winded and picture obese! I love Halloween ^_^

okay everyone..so i was looking for some advice.
this year, i think i want to skip out on gifts and volunteer or buy things for those in need.
now, i realize people may get upset or wonder why i haven't "thought about them," so i want to make cards.

would you say it's rude NOT to send a card? i don't want to rub it in peoples faces, but i still want to let them know because usually i am a huge gift giver :)

I'd make the traditional apology for being late with these, but it's NEVER too late or early for Halloween... so here are my costumes and their various crafted bits!

BTW, VERY pic-obese

Pics of my uber-crafted party coming soon!

There didn't seem to be anything that addressed my questions that had been posted already. Basically, I'm looking to make myself an iPod pouch with some writing and decoupage on it. I'd like to use some really thick, sturdy paper that would be strong enough to hold the iPod, but... paper-ish enough to write something on it and decoupage an image onto it. This store, which is basically the only one I'll be able to get to any time soon as there's a branch right near me, has an interesting selection of rice paper, Nepal paper, brocade paper and mulberry paper, among others. I could use mod podge to attach the image, and I'd invest in some pretty ink and a calligraphy pen to do the writing as I've wanted to get into that for a while. Which sort of paper (if any) would work? Is there something that I'm missing? Like, would those kinds of paper not be good enough for any part of this process?

Thanks in advance.

ETA: Actually, while I'm at it, do you think it would be possible to make a necklace using a similar process, by mod podging an image and some nice paper onto a wooden disk or ornament, then attaching that to a funky cord? Has anyone done things like this before?

Here we go! )

I know this is really belated but I made my halloween costume, in one week, go me!! I went as the Terrible Towel (its a Pittsburgh Steeler fan thing.) Its a yellow dress that I made from now pattern (yeah its kind of obviouse). I made the fringe (my towel had fringe on it, Ive had it since I was two. Not many of the towels have them anymore) from Lion brand Fun Fur and knitted it with chopsticks. The letter is made with fabric paint and what I refered to as reverse wax paper stenciling. I traced the letters then cut then out then did the outline in black fabric paint.

I was a total hit it at the few halloween parties I went too. Going to college in Western Pennsylvania has its perks with having a mess of Steelers fans. :) I was really just happy people that it was original now I have to start planning for next year. :)

But enjoy!

I've decided to try to make a hoodie. This will be the first piece of clothing I've made, so I have some questions. I'll be using this tutorial as a guide: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177602.0 . It's left me wondering a few things though.

I'm still VERY new at using a sewing machine. Because of this, I'm not sure how I can make the sleeves without accidentally sewing them closed XD I'm having the same type of thoughts on how to attach the sleeves to the main jacket part. If you could give me a good technique on how to do that, I would much appreciate it.

Also, what type of fabric would you recommend I use as a lining (something that's not too heavy) and also what fabric I could use for the sleeves. I'd like them to be a little stretchy if possible.

Any help would be really great. I'd like to do this, I just need a little push in the right direction :]

Oh, and just so you have something to look at...

I'm sorry for my crappy english, but I'll try to explain why I made this :) This is Henk. He is my model for the organ where abouts. He is meant to be a fun huggable schedule, so he is not that exact. He models the what we call "spijsverteringsstelsel", I don't know the english word, but the way the food travels trough your body. I made this for my class of 8 yr olds and they love him. I hope you do to. His body is made of wood, his organs (I keep thinking about the church music) are made of wool felt and other left over fabrics. The white things are information cards.

I wish we could have gotten more pictures, but sadly our party was crashed by one of my housemate's boyfriend's friends. Still, you get the idea.

Couples costumes! Aww. )

Hey guys! ^__^ We got hot water back in our house, so I was able to shower and put my costume on for pictures! I finished it last night because I got my extra beads in the mail yesterday. ♥ But since we didn't have any hot water last night, I didn't want to wear it because I felt all icky and sticky. TvT Anyway, here it is, skirt hemmed and shirt beaded. Still haven't found shoes, but I've got time. Gonna trim some bangs into the wig sometime this week probably. I ordered my purple contacts a while ago, and even though they got here before Halloween, I ran out of beads, so I couldn't wear my costume for it. TvT Oh, I made my earrings, too, last night, but I forgot to put them on. They'll look nicer against the black wig anyway. ^_^ I hope you like!! =D

X-posted many places. I'm sorry I like to spam my costumes! XD
