Hey crafty people :) i'm in need of some ideas.  The bf and I kept bees this summer and plan on turning our honey harvest into christmas gifts. I want to come up with some sort of clever label for the jars but haven't been able to settle on a concept i really like just yet.  I saw this awesome label in a specialty store: the product was called Worker Bee, and the label had caricatures of bees in business suits, working in cubicles. i thought that was really clever, but i don't want to shamelessly pirate their idea so i'm hoping to come up with something similarly clever.... any thoughts?

I haven't posted in awhile...and I have a quick question for all of you. You know those metal label holders that you can find on the front of storage boxes, they have an opening in the center to put your label? Like here? Does anyone know where I can just find those, minus the box? I've been looking all over. Maybe online? (Keep in mind, I live in Canada..hah)

Anyway, here are some crafty necklaces I've made:

I have been busy making some stuff, so I wanted to show it off to you all. I hope there are people in this world that are interested in rubber bugs and flowers and wiggle eyes as much as I am. Some of these items still need pin backs, but I haven't put them on yet.

not sure what the hell is going with this board, but thanks very much to the sick, disgusting, disturbing, and quite rape-like comments of the user "clit_like_what" (and how on earth are you allowed to create that username in the first place?) this post is deleted.

This post is long over-due as I finished the jewelry in September and the wedding that the necklaces were made for was in October.

I was commissioned by a bride to make four necklaces for her bridesmaids to wear in her wedding. I had previously made four bracelets for the same bride, which she had given to her bridesmaids when she asked them to stand with her at the wedding. The necklaces were made to go along with the bracelets and compliment them but not necessarily be matchy-matchy. Both bracelets and necklaces were made with real pearls or various shapes and sizes, garnet Swarovski crystals and crystal Swarovski crystals. They were made in various lengths to accommodate the wearers.

I was pleased with the necklaces (and bracelets) and I believe the bride was pleased as well. I can only hope that her bridesmaids liked and appreciated the jewelry. Hopefully they find many occassions in the future to wear it!

2 more pictures of the necklaces, plus one of the bracelets for good measure )

Hey gals! I've thought to take upon myself an art project for the upcoming holiday season. I have decided to join DeviantArt's Holiday Card Project and was wondering where I might be able to find some of the following!

Cardstock (preferably cheap as I don't really have a lot of money right now though I can also use printer paper)
Holiday stencils (preferably Christmas related)
Festive Origami paper

Also, regarding the stencils; I will be outlining the stencils on the back of christmas wrapping paper and then cutting them out and gluing them onto the front/inside/back/whatever of the cards I'm making. Now if I were to, say, cut from the middle of the paper, how would I do that? Is there a tool that I can get that would help me accomplish this? If I can't actually use scissors to cut it out? (omg I hope that's understandable. ><)

I have recently learned how to make paper cranes, so I thought it would be a nice idea to make one for each card, hoping it brings them a little peace.

I've never had to search for any of these things before, so I don't really know where to look. And this is my first big art project ever. So I'd really like to be able to do this. ^^;

Any help would be more than appreciated, thank you!

EDIT: I totally forgot to ask, but what would be the best way to attach objects to the cards? Glue, rubber cement? Glue stick? Also, thank you for all your helpful comments!!

About a month or two ago, I up and moved away from my best friends, my family and my whole frame of reference. I somehow ended up halfway across the country, in a province I had never visited before, living with a brother whom I barely knew.

I spent most of my time spazzing, stressing and making things out of Fimo. As a result I have a whole new slew and a half of new thingies to show!

Now, I've got to apologize about the photo quality of the pictures. Y'see, when I moved across country, I left behind my bestest best friends and their cameras of incredible spiffiness. I have since had to settle for using a camera of indeterminate worth and workliness.

Enough griping, on with the pictures!
