Does anyone know where I can find a free sewing pattern for a tam? I tried Google, but I keep getting crochet and knitting patterns. Thanks!

hullo craftsters!

i have a question. about knitting machines.
im thinking of buying one, but dont know a lot about them, and googling for info just brings up people trying to sell me one.

so, can you use any wool in them? or does it have to be special types of wool? can you use the fuzzy, funster type wool? most of my monsters are knitted with that, and since thats what im buying it for, it'd suck to find out i couldnt.

do you have any tips or anything about using them?

thank you!

and jsut so this aint post only, and just so you don't think i'm a one trick pony with the knitted monster gig, here is a set i created for a theatre show recently, built out of brown clothes and wire.

clicky for the closeup )

and when they taught us basket weaving in year 2, i shook my head and wondered when the hell i'd ever use that knowledge again. ahh, will the young ever learn?

well, clearly they do, eventually :)

Hello,
First time posting here.
I started sewing a couple of months ago.
If you have any tips on how to improve, let me know! Thanks (:

Tamago Nigiri and California Roll are still in love.  Although they speak different languages, love transcends everything.  And what they say means the same thing, so does it really matter that it sounds different?

On a whim, I signed up for a "swap" on Craftster - you make a bunch of stuff for someone and send it to them, and they make a bunch of stuff for you and send it to you. It's loads of fun, and I had a great time playing with wool felt and blanket stitch. :) It was SO very restful to do something that is NOT SCA related. :)

Oh hey,
I've always wanted to paint my boring old cell phone but never did because I was afraid of voiding my warranty.
But guess what? It got run over by a car! Luckily it still works but have you ever seen a broken LCD screen? Yep - that's my phone now. Anyways, now that it's a peice of garbage anyway I want to paint it. What kind of paint should I use? Anybody here paint a cell phone? Can I see pictures? Thanks!

Oh - and some shoes.

Thanks for looking!

Hello all,

Would any one have any good reference material as to how to make your own body washes and scrubs? I am quite interested in honey (and mayhaps oatmeal)  scented ones.

Thank-you!
:)
