kittys

i made these kitty felt brooches tonight.
It's actually an idea i had before xmas, but never got around to
they have safety pins on the back, to attach on things , and are around 6cm tall.

So I've been trying to figure out what to get my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and remembered this cow pattern I've been holding onto for quite some time. I figured it would be cute to make him something plus I'm a poor and broke college student so I don't have much choice :o
I only remembered half way through making it that I suck at sewing. D:

I love bunnies.

This bunny is crocheted with 100% cotton and is no larger than my hand. I created it while marathoning some episodes of Gundam 00 the other day.

I brought him with me to school yesterday for my first time shooting in the photography studio. We were supposed to bring in a 'product' to shoot.

i urve you

Hope you like them. :)

A picture of a travel themed mini chest I made for my sister Lex who loves to travel as much as I do. Some of the pictures are mine and the rest I cut from magazines. The mini chest is from Ikea. I put it together, primed, painted and then decoupaged it.

Has anyone ever done a stencil on Cordura? A friend of mine wants me to do a stencil on his bike messenger bag but I guess the material is kinda tricky to work with. I don't want to jack up his bag with this.

Here is a pic of what the bag looks like:

the stencil would go on the black outter part.

What kind of paint do you suggest?

I just scored a roll of microfilm. What should I do with it? Some ideas I've considered:

-Curtain
-Skirt
-Sew into plastic and make a bag

I know you guys will come up with something awesome. It's a little sick how excited I was when I learned I got to take the microfilm home.

Sorry for a no-pics post (I'll have some soon, promise!), but I have a question.

When making those microwaveable handwarmers, or footwarmers, or whatever it is they're used for, what kind of rice do you use? Just regular old cheapo white rice?
Thanks!

For this Valetine's day, I decided to make one of those "52 things i love about you" books. Only, my boyperson and I have been dating about a year and a half and we dont say that "L" word. It's just not in our vocab. But I simply adore him and I thought he should know. I made him a 52 things I LIKE about you book instead :)

Decided to use the glue stick onto playing cards instead of using cardstock. It makes some of the pages look really "busy" but I like it better. I also binded it with ribbon, but I'm not sure how sturdy that is. I may change it before I give it to him tomorrow.

There are obviously a ton of pics so I'm only posting my faves.

Hope you like! And thanks for the inspiration!

Also, I want to give major props to all the folks before me, here and on craftster, who have made books like this and posted their stuff! I love seeing everybody's versions of these books! :) Y'all inspire me and that is why I love both of these craft communities :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I needed something to clam me down and not think of my work problems
[identity profile] sbilokonsky.livejournal.com
this was actually what i did in the video tutorial i made today- however the video tutorial was a wash- since 80% of what i was doing was out of frame ( so hubby is going to have to film instead of my tripod)

edit: forgot to add that they are made out of old silverware

I have some amazing fabrics lying around that are dying to be turned into clothes. I'd like to learn to make a simple a-line skirt, but have no idea where to start - is there a pattern that anyone would recommend, or a book or website?

To those of you who have made your own clothes, how did you get into it? Do you have any tips?

I've thought about trying to use a skirt I already own as a pattern, but I'd need step-by-step instructions for how to do the zip and the lining...

Thanks in advance for any help!
