Hey all!
I have a bit of an issue on my hands. I recently bought the Ikea MALM bed (cause it was the cheapest one, lol) and it turned out to be waaaay too low for my taste. It's like sleeping at floor level. Not really, but it's really low. So, I was going to get a bunch of cinderblocks and upholster (sort of.) them in cute fabrics and just plunk em under my bed.

Of course, I don't really think cinderblocks will be too stable, seeing as I want the bed waaaay higher than that (like about a foot) and stacking up fabric covered cinderblocks under a bed and then jumping on the bed can only end in disaster. And, I don't really want to drag and decorate cinderblocks, so I was wondering if yall had any ideas as to what I can do to make my bed higher without it being too rickety. Anything that will hold the thing up and still look cute will do!

THANKS!

Hi everyone! I don't know if this sort of post is allowed, but I could use all the support I can get!

A bracelet that I made is a finalist in the BeadStar competition! I am absolutly excited about this, and winning would be a dream come true! I could get my creation published in a magazine, and the $5000 FMG gift certificate grand prize is not too shabby! Is anyone else a finalist?

TO VOTE, go to http://www.beadingdaily.com/BEADSTAR/ and click on FINALISTS. Then click on VOTE. You will have to submit a vote in each category. My entry is the 19th in the "Metals" category. All you need is an e-mail address to vote. Voting ends June 18th, so get your vote in early!

Again, I would REALLY appreciate your support! Thanks :) (and let everyone know if you are a finalist too!)

Hey there, crafters.

I just moved, so I've been busy doing moving stuff instead of sewing lately, lame. I had some stuff on which to catch up that no one enjoys [like hand-mending a 50 year-old quilt that was starting to shred EVERYWHERE & making some new curtains for my room].

I did remember that I made something a while ago that I forgot to post, ANDDD I made a dress yesterday for our apartment-warming party tomorrow.

I am making a baby gift package for my pen pal. I made this bunny but now I am stuck. should I add a face to it? I've tried a couple of things but nothing looks quite like I want it to. Would using iron-on transfers be ok for a baby? I know nothing about babies.

Ideas?
Thanks!

Edit: Thank for the suggestions! I tried embroidery before but didn't like it. I liked the example ugotogal gave and tried it. It looks really cute! I will take a pic when I finish the other items.

Today is my fiance's 24th birthday and I really didn't have anytime to make an actual gift for him so I got crafty with the wrapping and his card.

I'm glad I finally finished this! I had so much fun making it, although I probably should have started my first bag-making experience by following a tutorial. Instead I just eyeballed a few of my favourite bags (I should note that I have a LOT of handbags! But I generally only use one at a time until I get bored, then move on to another in my stash.) and amalgamated all of my favourite features. The shape of a cute bucket-bag I got from Universal Studios in Japan, the gussetted pocket of my recent handbag cast-off, the perfect wristlet-sized straps from, umm... yet another cute bucket bag I have. I told you I had too many bags! But together I think my addiction and me have forged the perfect bag!
