I was just so happy with how this came out:

The web and spider are made with sterling silver wire, the beads are various garnets.

Thinking about it now, I think it needs to be my sister's winter holiday present, since she loves both spiders and garnets.

For Halloween I plan to be CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN.

Do I want a T-shirt with pictures of coins with faces of the easter bunny, santa, the tooth fairy or do I want to give out coins that have those faces on them? OR do I want a round carboard sandwich board with one face on each side?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Here's a small update! I've been missing from this place for a while [moving], but I should be back with lots of new things very soon! I've got my own craft room now, which I need to finish setting up before I really get to work. :)

Well I sort of stepped outside the box with this one. I am so happy with the results! I used so many colours that I don't know where to start listing them :) I started with a base of several colours, and encased with lots of clear, then decorated with dots, stringer, and twisties. The big beads are quite big, there's a ruler shot in with the auction. They have a great chunky feel to them and I know they'd make awesome focals. Really you have to see them in person to get the depth.

My family's milliners blood runs strong in my veins. I made my first elaborate hat starting from a basic buckram frame.

Does anyone here use resin? I've been experimenting a little because I want to make my own beads and capture dried flowers in the resin (and then later some bees and jewel beetles that I've found...). This is my first attempt and the bead is very foggy- it seems like a lot of air bubbles sneaked in- especially when I was removing it from the mold (although I used petroleum jelly to make this easier). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this process more successful?!

Here is a picture of my failed resin bead:

I have posted in years...but, I've been drinking a lot of snapple lately and recently noticed that they have little facts on the inside on the caps.

any idea of that I could do with these?  I've been racking my brain and have nothing.

thanks.

This is a journal page that I did in my workshop "Confessions of a Daily Journaler" that I taught at Art & Soul in Portland, the beginning of October. I thought I was going to do some more to it, but decided to leave it as is and call it done. So, I finally took the time to scan it and post it.

ok, I made this for Halloween out of soft modeling clay, It drys soft and foamy and not hard and clay like. I painted the details with a toothpick. and it was VERY tedious... but worth it. Sorry for the crappy pikkies. My camera Suuuucks...
