I am painting a tie that is plain white for my boyfriend. He is going to be a math teacher and is starting to buy dressy clothes for the job. I'm having a little trouble thinking of something that is fun but professional too. I was thinking i could maybe make like a triforce (from zelda) tie. things he likes are: video games (zelda, silent hill, bioshock, heavy rain)music and guitar, and squid. I already made him a squid painting so i wasnt sure if a squid one would be too much. But he also likes artsy things i make so any ideas are welcome. i just want to make sure its something he can wear while teaching.

cross posted. sorry.

hello again! it's been awhile. (i've posted here before under "vilexnerve" but i've moved to this new name.)

i just wanted to share this display piece i put together for my polymer clay charms!

i found this adorable planter on etsy:

and i pictured it like a vendor, i thought it'd make the *perfect* display for my charms. it turned out EXACTLY like i pictured! i'm so happy with it! :D

here's the finished display:

very simple, i just painted some craft rods (what are those called?) white, cut them to size, i cut the table part out of a polaroid film box (being crafty, i save lots of boxes and other things most people toss! xD) the wheel and the shade part are both made from painted notecards. and the little "soda jerk" hat is simply cut out of copy paper and coloured with colour pencils.

and of corse the charms are all handmade from colour polymer clay, i make everything entirely by hand with the exception of the ice cream cones in this case (i usually do those by hand, but these were made with a mold- i did however at least make the mold myself, from a cone i made myself c:)

i hope you guys like it as much as i do!! :D

(i'm putting a close-up of the goodies under cut, hehe :3c)

THE NOMS!! x3 )

thanks for looking! *MWAH* ♥

The weekend before last I went to the Bead and Button show in Milwaukee. And I went it with a few things in mind that I really wanted to check out. Some stones and some resin. Now, I’ve had a hard time with resin in the past (it just never wants to set for me!). But there’s this new kind out that’s supposed to be fool proof, so I decided to give it a shot. And I have to say… I am SOOOOOOOO happy with the results! I’ve only done a few things with it, but I’m DYING to do more!

In which I am FAR too excited about things… )

I found a picture of a dress that I want need.  There are 2 problems.
1) How do I make a pattern for it?
2) What material should it be made of?

It looks like it wouldn't be to terribly hard, but I have no idea what I'm doing or even if I'd be capable of making it.
