Nov. 27th, 2002 12:31 amI worked really hard tonight! I finished one of my boyfriend's birthday presents. Zach loves Kobun. In America, he's known as "Serv-Bot" if he's known at all. He's this funny little robot assistant guy in an arcade game. Zach laments the fact that you can't get much Kobun stuff at ALL in the States. He found this shirt (below) on some site and went ballistic. He wanted it so much! So, what do I do? I made one. Man, I'm such a good girlfriend. Hee.

The shirt I made.

I'm really pleased with it. The shirt is a bit darker than it appears in the photos. I haven't decided whether or not to write "Kobun's: something strange" underneath it but my sore back tells me I'm done for the night. It took several layers of paint to get it looking solid, since I was working on a dark fabric. I had to do two to three coats of white before I even began the colours. I'm super-happy though. I want his birthday to HURRY UP now, since it's hard for me to keep secrets.
Tomorrow I'm going to my friend Kate's house to make the giant Scrabble tiles so we can play on our rug. We have a rug with the board game on it, see, but no tiles to fit. I'm making him a full set of 3.5" tiles and using Kate's dremmel to carve out the letters and point values. One hundred letters. And four holders, if I have time. Phew.
