I had this idea about buying really big men's sweaters and then tailoring them to my needs instead of finding ones that fit right. then I'd have enough left over material to make a nice scarf or something too.

So this is my first attempt. I'm happy enough to try it again.

Hi, I'm one of those lurkers that you're always reading about. I've been checking in on this community for about 6 months, but just recently decided to start posting on other people's entries. This entry will contain pictures and the pattern that I use to make wristwarmers/wristbands,and a question about casting resin.

These are quick and easy. First for the wristband because I know a lot of you had questions. But this requires that you have circular needles or doublepointed needles. If you're not sure how to use double pointed needles you can find a tutorial here double pointed needle tutorial.

This is cross-posted, so sorry in advance for that.

i'm looking for a pattern for a small pair or a single glove...preferably Victorian, but that doesn't matter too much. Does anyone know of a link where i could find one or perhaps have a pattern they'd be willing to share? i want to make Valentine's Day cards and need a small glove or pair of gloves for it. i'll be happy to share the valentine's pattern and verse once it's completed!

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone recommend a good place from where I can order Vitrea Glass Paint?

I found the pattern for this backpack in a knitting book for kids. (The name of the book is Kids Knitting.) It's full of cute projects, and the instructions are very simple and clear.

I also made a star pillow. )

Thanks for looking! Slightly off-topic ---> I'm looking for other craftygrrls living in Melb Australia to share ideas and form a stitch and bitch club. Comment or email me [yyumeko@hotmail.com] if interested.

I was at my friends house last night and he has some really neat pictures he made in a class at college. He said they are called "prints" and described the process to make them to me. You get a piece of glass or plastic the size that you want the picture to be, then you get something like origami paper and cut shapes out of it and either glue the shapes or the paper with the shapes cut out to the glass or plastic, which is the called the "plate". Then you rub this really thick ink into the plate really hard, then put the plate ink side down onto water color paper, or paper that is really thick and pourous. Then you put a towel over the whole thing and send it through this thing that looks like a really old printing press. The press has a large roller on it that you contorl with a hand crank and you can adjust the presure you put on the plate. You roll it through there a couple times and you have this REALLY neat looking picture done in ink. You can make a whole series of them by just adding another color ink over the top when you're done with the first color, it's fucking awesome!

Now that I've seen these I REALLY want to make some myself, the best idea we could come up with for doing it at home was to use a large rolling pin and body weight to do them at home. But I was wondering if anyone has ever made something like this at home and had a better idea of what equipment to use in place of the printing press thing, and any idea what kind of ink to use?

this has nothing to do with being crafty.. well yeah i guess i can add it in here.

but i really hate when the weather is incredibly beauitful like it is right now (for those of you in cali.. you know what im talking about)its not too cold, its deffinatly not hot, but when the sun hits your back its a wonderful feeling.. and it makes me want to stay outside and just bask in the sun rather than work on crafty things.. but ALAS! its supposed to rain this weekend so there will be no concert going for this concert whore, rather.. i will stay inside and become one with my wonderful sewing machine (which i have yet to get a name for because i have barely used her.. gosh darnit)

and now! on to the craftyness!
i just want to say that i am absolutly in adoration with the lion brand homespun yarn. it is so incredibly quick and smooth between my fingers.

anyone else share any of these wonderful feelings?!

it's suggestion time!

can I get a few ideas for cute gifts to give a new boyfriend?

it's for valentine's day, but they don't have to be directly related to the holiday.

we're both really into photography and indie rock .. <3
