I'm not very crafty. I want to be, but generally I'm very lazy and untalented and have no ideas that I can actually execute. However, reading [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl is inspirational!

I have wanted a big, chunky stone necklace for a while, like the ones that Trinny on What Not to Wear wears (Trinny would probably scold me for this, since I am not at all flat chested and shouldn't be wearing these, but I promise to wear it with scoop neck tops!). I found this belt at Target for $3.47 and saw possibilities:

hi everyone!

i just wanted to thank you all for so many wonderful responses and ideas for instructions on how to make little voodoo doll party favors. i was still getting responses through the evening even after we were done, and i just think you guys are all great for being so helpful, so thank you.

we ended up getting going mad at the local art store.

we taped 2 sticks together in a T-cross form. then we folded a bunch of raffia over the top and tied that to the sticks so the fold formed the head of sorts. then we cut out little clothes and tied it around the waist with a different color raffia.

simple enough! we made 50. i never want to see another one again in my life.

thanks again everyone :) you are wonderful!

I have so many beads I should never be allowed to buy more.
Yet I did, and charms too, and here is what I made.

Alright lassies and gents, it is time for a brainstorm. Has anyone ever seen those paper stars that you can put a light bulb in and viola it is a lantern, they fold up all flat when the light bulb isn't in them. Am I confusing you yet??? Well if anyone knows what I am talking about, I want to make one but don't know where to start. I assume you need a special type of paper and you probably have to fold it the right way so that it actually looks like a star. Can anyone give ideas or maybe a website. Thanks!

Hi all :)

Here's my problem. I recently found vintage pattern I adore, but it's from 1950-something and it's a size 14, and I'm a size 18-20. Does anyone have any tips on modifying the pattern so it will work for me? Should I just move all the lines out however many inches, or...?

Thanks!

I'm just curious. How did yall pick up crafting?

I think it started when my mom bought me a book on friendship bracelets when I was really small. I've always been a creative person, though. So yeah. My mom is the antithesis of craftiness.

i was watching "while you were out" *sigh* and they made fake stained glass with melted gummy bears. i want to make something using that technique, but i missed what chemical they sprayed on it afterwards to seal it and keep bugs off it. any ideas???
