made with two colours of lion brand 'fun fur' yarn combined with some random white yarn that i got at a thriftshop to give it some bulk since the fur yarn alone was kinda tangled and messy to work with.

used single crochet stitches with a rather large needle (q, i think?) and just made a straight seam cylinder slightly smaller than the size of my calf and increased towards the end.

Okay, so I just got invited to a birthday party for a nine year old girl. Gift ideas? This includes something that I might not make, because of time. I don't want to give her anything typical, like makeup or anything too girlie. No dolls. nothing that will suggest growing up too fast. I can sew, if that helps. I looked in the FAQ but i still want more ideas.

I can't believe I am stumped on this. I just haven't met many 9 year olds lately.

Do these zipper installment instructions make any sense to you? They make no sense to me and I plan on doing it differently when I make this thing. It seems like all you'd get is raw edges next to the zipper teeth. Am I missing something?

Does anyone have an idea of how to make a tank-top into a good-looking, regular shirt?

I imagine it would be difficult, because unlike cutting off sleeves or something, you're actually adding on.

Comments?

i was looking around online in boredom and came accross this! i want to make on very badly!!! i just don't know how i'm going to do the pattern exactly though. should i make two long rectangles with a curved top and then a circle for the bottom? i figure i can use trim rope from the fabric store for the pullstring.
after showing the pillow to my bf he said i'd have to make a dildo pillow also, lol. so any ideas on a pattern for that? i figure it should have a...erm...head...lol. thanks in advance and sorry for the strange questions!

Hi again,

I posted yesterday about my crazy day of craftiness, and put a link to this page: http://www.skwairpeg.com/Skwairpeg%20-%20Subject%20To%20Change.html

I know a lot of you guys have checked out the pics, but I am wondering if you could let me know -- how many of you are having trouble with the page taking forever to load? Not the page with all the craft pictures, but the one the link goes to. I check my stats throughout the day and I see that many many many people who visit my site don't stay. Is it because the background and everything takes a long time to load? My business site will be much cleaner, but I don't have a lot to go on just yet.

Thanks to everyone who commented about my tables and such. I am definitely going to pursue selling things like that - it's just going to take a lot more time than I'd like. Guess I just have to remember that the day WILL come when I can say "see ya" to my day job and make a living doing things I love to do.

PS -- very sorry if asking about my page is a no-no here -- I figured since this was where I made the original post it would make sense to ask ya'll how things went...

Question time.
I need a little help here. I want to make dolls and put giggle boxes inside like they do at Build-A-Bear so when you press them they giggle but I have absolutely no idea where to even purchase the boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

One of my closest friends birthday is tommorow and I was pondering what some creative ways of making a birthday card would be. (Origami would be nifty, but I haven't had much experience in that department) Her present is all accessories that can spiff-ify her car, if that helps a tish

i have plans on getting a bookshelf for my apartment, seeing as though i am collecting TONS of books between college and novels/leasure reading.

i want to go to my local thrift stores and get something used. if i cannot get something used that i like, i want to go to target and get something like this:

-if i get something with a finish, what would be the best and most inexpensive way to strip it?

-and... i want to stain it with a differnt color stain... like red or green, just something a little different. i know i've seen it done a long time ago on those HGTV shows but never paid attention. does anyone have any advice with that? what are peoples experiences with stains that are not "brown" in color?

-any other advice? all comments are greatly apprecaited!

thank you all ;D

Hi All

I live in the UK and my US based Aunt is coming over for a visit and is going to buy me some crochet hooks, specifically the pretty coloured ones :)

The question is... which manufacturer is best?

I was on a trip down memory lane so I went to seventeen.com. Look what I found: a decorated Jeans Box! Somebody in here wanted a way to decorate a box, right?

Okay, so I'm going to an erotic poetry reading tomorrow nite (where I'll actually be reading onstage so I need to look good...) and I bought a white sailor uniform shirt that comes down *just* long enough to be a minidress. Here's the only problem: since it's a shirt, it has no waist.

I'm temporarily living w/ friends and my sewing machine is in storage so I can't take the side-seams in and add darts... I bought a belt, but the extra material when I belt it in still looks baggy and funny.

So, here's my question: How can I take this shirt in by tomorrow nite without the use of a sewing machine???

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

hey ^_^ i have this friend who's getting her bazooma's ..*ahem*.."retracted". its a good thing. no more back pain. yeay!

but anyway, i thought it would be a really good idea to make her a cute new bra in her new size, as a present. and so i was wondering if anyone could direct me to a free pattern for the bras. or just any helpful tips. that would be nice.

help is really appreciated. ^^ i have this really cute red fabric with tiny shrooms on it, and this white fabric with little lolly pops. they need to be put to good use.

thanks, liz

i've started tacking the squares together in lines so far. i'm not actually sure i'm going to have enough denim now, but i can always cut up another pair of jeans, heh...
anyway, does anyone know how to make a skirt? heh! i have an idea...but i know i'll get stuck on how to do the waistband...

can anyone help? thanks :)
