I got this skirt in a clothing lot I bought off of Ebay ages ago and I really love it.. the only problem is, it's too short for me to wear out in public. I have a ghetto bootie so bending over the slightest bit is bad.. lol. Anyhoo... I was thinking I could add some sort of material or something to the bottom of it to make it a few inches longer. Does anybody have any ideas? A pic of the skirt can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2840664299&category=11556 . It's the only place I was able to find a picture of the skirt (not on the Lip Service or Hot Topic page). Sooo.. can anyone help me? Maybe show some example pix so I know what you're talking about? Thank you so much!!!

hey, does anyone have any ideas on what i could make for my friend whose birthday is in just over a week?!
i don't exactly know her *that* well, as we talk mostly online. she's a she, heh and she likes music...mainly smashing pumpkins, something corporate, placebo, idlewild, the beatles, feeder...
i asked what she wants, but she won't tell me! so i'm gonna make a card and am hoping to make some kind of present too...
oh, and it's gonna be her 18th!

so yeah...ideas?? anyone?? :D

I made myself an alter plate! I needed some sort of focal point for said alter, and so... presto.

Willow clay and underglaze, my first real experiment with colors. I should have kept my patience and finished all three layers, so I wouldn't have the streaks all over the place, but the detail was rather mind-numbing. I still like it, and because I put so much effort into it, it serves its intended purpose well.

And, to anyone who works with ceramics, I highly reccomend playing with underglaze. There are so many creative possibilities... but hey. Enough of that.

Take a look!

I have these buttons/applique things that need some use. A bunch of felt flowers, two really cute red retro buttons with a girl's face on them, and some buttons of a milkshake, a cel phone and a boombox. I also have buttons of some yellow doves, and patches of a rainbow and a pink poodle. I don't know what to do with them, any ideas?

Websites.

my site: trash and babble
Hey guys this may look like a bit of shameless self promotion (which it is) but mainly I'm posting to ask that if you guys have pictures of your crazy creations on the web let me know and I'll link to your site.
Check under "Gallery" for more info but if your thing doesn't fit any of those categories let me know and I'll add more!
Eventually I'd like to turn this into a resource of things to inspire creativity so everything is welcome.

My boyfriend has an awesome idea for a novel and envisions himself scribbling it out in an old leather/suede book. But since one often makes many changes when writing something of that magnitude he needs to be able to add and remove the pages as he pleases, like you can with a 3-ring binder. Unfortunately all the books I can find with the physical description he has in mind are bound and therefore not refillable. So I’m considering making it myself.
My question is, is it possible to buy the materials for a 3-ring binder so that I may make my own? Or does anyone know of an easy way to reuse the parts from a store bought binder? My main concern is the quality of the rings. I need them to be exceptional so that they don’t lose their shape and not lock properly (I’m sure we have all had experiences with our pages escaping our binders and this absolutely cannot happen with his novel). Could I possibly just buy a binder and recover it without it looking bad?
Alternatively, if anyone knows where to buy something that may fit this description, please let me know. Our anniversary is on the 27th and I’d like to give it to him then, but at this rate it seems unlikely that I will get to.
Thanks for any help you may have to offer. :)

Well, the boyfriend and I went dumpster diving last night and ended up with a lot of things, including a whole box of 12 inch bamboo skewers. There are 150 in a pack, I believe. I have nothing to do with them all, so if anyone wants any for anything please let me know. All I would ask for is S&H money, as I am quite broke right now. :) If no one wants them I'll just be throwing them out again. Let me know! :)

OK, I know I must be going blind because I KNOW this has been discussed before, but I cannot for the life of me find the post in the FAQ anywhere. I want to know where I can find snap button thingies this site has tons for CHEAP, plus for all you people looking for D-rings for belts and stuff: get 100 1-inch D-rings for under $4!

Okay, so I've found the snap buttons (and D-rings, wow I'm in heaven), but I still don't know how to put them in. The site doesn't seem to sell any clamps or presses or whatnot so I have no idea what exactly I need to put snaps in, say, denim. Anybody know?

I used to live in an apartment but I moved into a house about a year ago and we now have a garden in our back-yard. :) So I thought of a project that would be fun to make this summer that I remembered Debbie Travis doing a while ago on her show. What it is is making mini picket fences to label your plants, spices, flowers, etc. This is what it's supposed to look like:

In case you guys didn't see that episode or don't watch the show, here is the site for it with instructions and everything. Anyway, what I was curious about was whether any of you knew if craft stores sell little picket fences that look like this ready-made. Hehe. I know you must think I'm pretty lazy not to want to make one myself, but I don't have a saw or anything that I could use to cut the wood. :( Any advice??
[identity profile] sugrplum499.livejournal.com
OOPS, i had wanted the pics IN the post, here ya go!

ok guys, i bought the tie & it's EASY to make. this is what it looks like as a belt:

loop 2 D rings onto the skinny end of the tie

they hemmed the end of the tie, & put velcro to attach the D rings

so that's all there is to it!

Rawr. Question. How would you make a fading effect when dying something? I have a piece of fabric and I want to dye half of it red, but where the red ends, it sorta fades into the white. o.o; I just have no idea how to do it. Ah, I loved it if you helped me out. :D Wait wait, cheap feather boas anyone? Must have thick burgundy with a hint of purple feather boa soon. X.x; Just can't find anything. That is all<3.

i was recently expiramenting with making bobby pins. i glued little pictures to mancala beads (i'm sure there's another name for them, but i can't think of what it is.) then i glued the beads onto the end of bobby pins. they turned out really really cute, but the beads kept popping off of the bobby pins. the pictures came off the beads a few times too. i tried hot glue and super glue, but neither worked. do any of you have ideas of a type of adhesive that will keep the beads (and the pictures) secure?
