i've decided i'm gonna try my hand at making chocolate coffee spoons... :D but first, a few questions:

- what spoons should i use? i live in the uk, btw. should i use plastic ones? cheap metal ones? i don't know...help!

- is there any kind of chocolate or anything that i *shoudn't* use?...

- does anyone know where i can get cellophane to wrap the spoons up? cling film is just too...well, clingy. so i want some nice, but not expensive, cellophane stuff

- oh, and what would be the uk equivalent of candy melts??...

thanks in advance!

I've been wanting to try to make a stamp out of craft foam like I've seen others do, so tonight I made this stamp using the picture of me as a guide. Here's the picture and the stamped image.

I also made my first items for Found Art!.

woooo a few things. just found a new image hosting site in the faq, and hoping these come out.

i just picked up my 3/4 kenmore sewing machine, and it's been so frustrating tonight. im going to try again tomorrow, but only one singe stich so far. and there are a dozen things i want to get for it but NO MONEY. blah. it's really a cute sewing machine, and will be great when i can get it working, but if it keeps being weird im going industrial and that's that.

after my other sweing machine was usurped i resorted to duct tape. and i'm crazy about it. there's this whole underground world of duct tapers and it's funny. pictures behind the cut of the first bags i made.

i wanna hollow out a book when i get done with my sewiong projects, or as something to do to take a break from sewing, but what's the best way to get the pages to stick together? can i use rubber cement? spray adhesive?

many thanks for all the support. and amen to no selling.

hi, i have a few questions.

I am trying to paint an altoid tin and put a gloss on it, but now everytime i try to open the tin I have to fight it to open and the paint scratches, how can i paint the tin and not have it scratch? Should i leave the gloss finish off of that section that the tin slides against the other piece?

Also does anyone have a website or link for making dolls from dried corn ? On the cob still, with the leaves.

I went to the dollar store and scored a popsicle mold. This is what happened as a result of my find.

i am having unbelievable difficulties stenciling!
someone please help me i am so frustrated!

first of all, how do you cut the lines so perfectly???
how are you able to curve edges?

the main problem is that my stencil curves so it's hard to get it flat on the surface i want to stencil it onto!

also, i got spray on fabric paint and it comes out in like a stream so its big globs and goes under my stencil so you can't even see the image!

grrrrrrrrr i really want to do this i feel like an idiot because everyone else can do it and i can't!!!!!!

So I have a question.

Im making some pillow cases and want to put ribbon on them. the ribbon is contrasting on some of them, so I would just sew it on using the same color thread. it would show on the ribbon.

Im a little wary of using glue because
a)Im not sure it would really put up with that much washing. they are pillow cases after all.
b)I dont want to spend any more money. I have sobo already, but I dont know that that would work.

any thoughts on ways to creativly attach the ribbon?

or tips on making good pillow cases?

Does anyone know of any good patterns or advice for making dresses from the 70s-- with swishy skirts, Grease-ish, or even sort of pin-up girl style. I've found this...
http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.200002745=x&TI=20003&pageNum=1&M=&UK=30722514
I think I'll change it a little bit to be a halter...
Any ideas?

I made another stamp tonight.
lady stamp
Her arm got a little distorted, but I still like it. It's very difficult to make thin lined stamps with the silly craft foam so I'm very happy with how it came out considering how hard it was to do.

curtains

ok, so i bought me some fabric today to make curtains. actually they're going to go behind my existing curtains whose beautiful red colour is quickly fading... so i guess that they will serve as lining. anyway, my question is this: i bought some rings for the curtains (which are in fact sewing machine motor belts, but don't tell anyone that!) and now i'm trying to figure out the best way to attach them to the curtain. i found this site, which simply says to sew the rings to each curtain panel. i'm still pretty new to sewing so i'm not sure of how i should go about sewing the rings on... they look just like the ones on the site except that they're made of rubber. are there any sewers out there (experienced or not) who can help me??
