my room mate has an old bedsheet that she wants me to sew into a pair of white drawstring lounge pants for her. we already wasted half the bedsheet trying to just outline a pair of pants and use that, so this time i don't want to screw up again. does anyone have a really simple pattern? i saw one entry on pajama pants in the faq, but the pattern in the link seemed beyond me and was kind of hard to follow. i also searched both google and yahoo with no luck. Please help!!!

This isn't really a carfty question but I need help. I broke two bottles of nail polish on the carpet and I don't know how to get it out. I go the glass up but I am still left with a hard, scratchy, sparkly mess in the middle of my carpet. I am not worried if the carpet gets lightened a little in the cleaning process, since it wasn't great to beign with, but I do want to avoid a huge white or yellow bleach spot right in th middle of the room. Cursed shoe boxes - why can't they hold forty bottles of nailpoils without breaking?

quick question. I have started embroidering some cloth, and I can't seem to get the folded circles off the fabric...you know, from the hoop. I have ironed it and ironed it some more, but they just won't go away. any ideas? I haven't tried the steam setting. Would that help? I was worried it would mess the whole thing up. I'm not a very experienced iron-er. I usually just wear wrinkled clothes. Thanks in advance.

I have a skirt. it's pink and ruffle-y, and it's from target. made by "xhilaration". i can't find a picture but anyway...let me get to the point.
it is 47% polyester, 46% rayon, and 7% spandex. it feels like tshirt material.
I figured you all would know what to do about this.
The ruffles are a bit longer than i'd like and i could easily cut them shorter. but would this fray if i left it unhemmed?
would i have to hem it or something? i'm afraid the strech will throw me off if i try to hem it.

x-posted to t_shirt_surgery and clothes_surgery because i am absolutely desperate

I had this pretty india print material that I didn't want to cut up into little things, so I made a big long skirt.
It's pretty much just two big pieces sewn together. It's got a tie back because I didn't want to bother with zippers and buttons and I'm unimpressed with drawstrings...

Here's a little something I made for my boyfriend, a comic book junkie, a while ago.

I've looked through the FAQ's and couldn't see anything about it (if I've overlooked, please lead me in the right direction). I've seen it mentioned that you need to "block" something when knitting/crocheting, but have yet to find an explanation as to what that actually is. Can anyone tell me???
