I just finished making my handmade skull bag. I'm in the process of designing my own line of coin purses. After that I'm going on to design full scale bags I believe. I did the embroidery work on this bag myself. It was superfun. And turned out way better than I expected!

I just finished the prototype for my coin purse. If only I could learn to properly sew a zipper on this crazy fabric. I'll buy some junk zippers and practice till I'm perfect.
Scuse the glue. It dries very clear.

I'm feeling 'skirtish' this spring.. I want to make a very simple, straight skirt, elasticized waist, that ends above the knee. I've looked to buy what I want, but I can't find the right size, color, length - whathaveyou. So I've decided I may as well test out my sewing machine and make one. I figure, the skirt I want is soo simple, so I don't want to purchase a pattern. Does anyone know where I can either find a pattern for something like this, or do you think I can wing it and just sew it up?

Thanks in advance :)

I want to start cross stitching but don't want to make a picture or wall hanging thing, what else would look cool with cross stitching on it? a bag, or small purse? any suggestions?

Due to my recent flood of posts regarding my cheap-o "silk screening" I said I would post again and explain my process. I also finally set the last shirt and made two new ones...

Well, i'm having my room decorated soon, and getting new bedroom furniture. but i want to make or decorate things to go with my room, but don't know what. I've looked through the memories. I'm already going to be decorating some pot plant pots, to put my pens and plants in (at the moment my plants are in just the plastic plant pots), and i'm probably going to make some cushions for it as well, but other than that, i don't have many ideas... my room is going to be pink, white and lilac, with this bedroom furniture set. (its a brighter pink than in the picture and should open in a new window) and a plain bookcase. (hopefully with the extra draws i'll have enough space to store my wool and fabrics :D )
I already have things that i am going to use, painted glass, 2 mirrors, one large, one small.. photoframes and a little shelf i made from left over bits of wood from a video stand my mum has, that i made when i was younger. but i should be able to buy other things as well. I have a sewing machine, and i can knit and crochet. So really, this is just a long winded way of asking for ideas! thanks :)

and also, i made this )
it was going to be a cat phone case, but it ended up looking more like a cross between a dog and a mouse. And my kitten keeps running off with it... Im not sure what the grey wool is, only that my cats really like it. and the black is acrylic.. knitted on 10mm needles, holding the black and the grey together. theres a button on the back, and the felt and the eyes, and the nose were just glued on with a glue gun :D

Soft Jeans

How would I take a relatively new pair of jeans and make them all thin and soft like very old, worn-out jeans? Could I use bleach/water (but that would just eat holes in the material). There's been discussion about making t-shirts thin & soft - has anyone done this to jeans?

I want to do it to a pair of stretch jeans, if that makes a difference. If they get very faded, that's fine & dandy too.

(I checked the FAQ but only found info on "distressing" jeans which is nice but not the same thing.)

I made a purse for my friend for her 21st birthday...actually it was from reading all of your posts and seeing all the pics of the beautiful things that everyone in this community made that inspired me! Thanks :)

Purse pictures! )

I also made her a necklace and bracelet set!

I hope she likes them!

i made this for my friend. it took a few weeks of on and off working on it. i crocheted it and then lined it with checkered fabric and added a zipper and made a felt duckie patch for the front(she LOVES ducks). i was inspired by the backpacks in s&b, but i dont knit very quickly and i wanted to finish this before school finished for the summer, and since i can crochet at ludacris speed("we've gone plaid...") i did that instead. i'm pretty proud of how it turned out, even if i'm going to be a little sick of crochet for the next few weeks...sorry about the blurry pictures, i'd take new ones, but i already gave it to my friend and she loved it. i think when crochet begins to sound appealing again, i'k going to make myself a pink one. yup.
