I'm not quite sure if this qualifies as crafty, but I basically made my rendition of a 1-800-flowers ad.

I bought a milkshake glass from the dollar store, filled it with those pastel dinner mints, and topped it with a semicircle of roses attached to floral foam. The whole thing cost around $10, which is a steal considering the $60-something price tag on floral arrangements nowadays.

i asked my mom what her favorite outfit was so i got some shoes and painted them to match it.

Is anyone else having problems with not getting replies through to their emails? I posted last night about metal faith/inspirational beads, and for some reason none of the replies came into my inbox. First time that's ever happened to me.

I made these felt flower corsages for my moms and grandmas this year. I stuck them to a hand-stamped piece of cardstock and then wrote my message on the back.

I've found a lot of crafty stuff on www.eco-artware.com, and today when I was sorting out the bookmarks in my arts and crafts folder I saw this.
I'm not quite sure how you would go about making this, but if anyone wants to attempt it I'd love to see the outcome. I don't know much about papercrafts, so if I tried it it would probably turn to mush once I put flowers in. THe only thing I can think of is having a plastic liner inside.

I made this for sister's birthday. It's cardstock, patterned paper, microbeads, and an embossed happy birthday embossed with UTEE, although its hard to tell in the picture.

Ok, does anyone have tips for cleaning silver, getting rid of potential rust?

Yesterday at the thrift store I acquired a lovely silver plated goblet that on the bottom is stamped 'made in Spain'

After cleaning it lightly with soap and water, and then with a bit of baking soda I realized there is a bit of a rough spot that looks like rust/oxidization. Is there any way to get rid of this, and then to somehow seal up the weak spot?

Thanks in Advance!!

Hi, I've commented a few times but never posted, sorry if I mess up. I found a cute pair of little girl size 16 jeans in the $.50 bin at Goodwill and am trying to think of something to make with them. Should I go with a bag or is there something funky and cute you've done before? All of you are so imaginative, please help!! I can try to make a cut for the pic if it's too big :)

Does anyone know how to remove Sta-Sharp (ulano)silk screening film? I have the adhering liquid, but I don't remember if you need something special to remove it. It's been a few years since I've done it, and finally hunted down some supplies at Dick Blick. I checked the faq, but didn't see anything relevant. Thanks.

This may sound like an odd question, and, if it's not appropriate for any of these communities, I understand if this entry is baleted.

I've had this same pair of flowered Gap boxer shorts for at least 10 years (sounds crazy I know!) They've been my faithful pajamas and swimsuit coverup for so long. I've had them even longer than my husband. :)
But yesterday when I bent over--RIIIIP--they tore right up the butt.
The fabric is worn very thin from many loving hours spent on the very same butt that destroyed them, so mending is out of the question. Anybody got any good ideas as to what I could make out of this relic of my young adulthood?

Wooo!
I finally finished this bag that I have been putting off for nearly a month now. Brocade is a bit more difficult to work with that I had expected, so I backed off a little and it took longer to get done. My friend wanted to me to make her a big purse to hold the world in, and she wanted it to look like it came from India. I found this brocade on sale, and it reminded me of a sahri (sp?) so I thought it was perfect.

The brocade is a turquois, with dark blue and red flowers on it outlined in gold and green. It has a dark blue broadcloth lining, and closes with a red toggle.
