I'm very sorry if this has been posted before, but I checked the memories and couldnt find anything. How would one go about turning fishnet pantyhose into fishnet thigh highs? They are tight enough on my thighs not to sag, but I was wondering how I could prevent runs and how I can add some back up support.

ok i just searched the community through google and only came up with the cigarette pack cell phone case. we have the same style phone as that, for reference. So...I can't crochet or knit and I was wondering if anyone had patterns for sewn cell phone cases/cozies? i'm having an inordinarily difficult time searching for this and would appreciate any sort of leads.

i just bought an Easy Punch Embroidery Machine from a thrift store...it lookes like a big blue toy tattoo gun, and supposedly it will embroider. it came with some accessories, but no instruction booklet. i know how to thread it and it all seems to be in working order, but i can't seem to get the thread to latch onto fabric and do it's thing.

so i was wondering if anyone here has one such machine, or if anyone's mommie has one (since they're from the 80s). any help is mucho appreciated.

Hello all! A friend and I are going fabric (and accessories) shopping tomorrow in the garment district of NYC. I haven't spent too much time there, so I was wondering if anyone had some must-visit spots. We're not looking to spend a lot of money, so places with lots of remnants and cheap stuff would be awesome. We don't mind digging to find the good stuff. Hehe. I'm also going to have to definately visit the mjtrim.com store since the last two times I was there, it was closed! Thanks for any tips you've got!

I never wear it and it was just taking up closet space and i am always making my daughter new stuff out of old stuff so...........Viola!

I'm making wings to go along with my fairy horns (http://www.livejournal.com/community/faeriefashion/388670.html#cutid1) to wear at prom tomorrow :) I wanted them to look really detailed (kind of shaped like these ones: http://www.firefly-path.com/picview.php?image=chimage.php?image=snow2.jpg) but I wanted them to be smaller than that and the wire I had wasn't bendy enough for it to work. So I tried to find better wire but there wasn't any so I decided to try to make them out of a poster board base, with wire suport and fabric over the poster board instead. It worked suprisingly well. I'll post a tutorial on how exactly I did it once I have pictures of them.

Okay crafty pals, I am fed up with my current supplier and am in search of a new one. Do any of you faithfully patronize certain online suppliers of carrier oils? Specifically, I need sweet almond and grapeseed oils, and I'd like to not pay an arm and a leg for them. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

I did it! I was so scared to cut into a pattern to adjust for my C cup boobs but I finally got over it, and with the help of this tutorial I now have a very well fitting top!

Hey creative crafters!

I have 2 upcoming projects in mind and I could really use some creative suggestions.

01: I have a small end table. It's plain wood. The surface is a flat circle of wood with 3 wooden poles supporting it. I want to bring it to my new apt. I want to paint it with some kind of theme. I'm not into pink or girly stuff. I like darker crazier things. Any ideas of what to do with it?

02: My friend is graduating college and I want to make her a present. She's also moving into a new apt. with a backyard. I was thinking about making her something outdoors related. Any suggestions?

I've done some stuff lately. I got into beading again for 3 months ago, and I've made heaps in that time. Most of it is under the cut, I think I've posted some of it before though. And this needle holder where I got the idea from a thread http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=5923.0 . Beware of a load of pictures, but they aren't big kb wise =) They're big too, had to show detail!

.... put sculpey on altoid tins and have it not warp in the oven? I've got some left over sculpey and some new clay tools i'd like to try and a bunch of altoid tins, but don't want them to get messed up in the oven if I put them together.

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to make the book purses? I looked in the memories section but the only two links to the kind I want (with the handle, not a clutch) didn't exist anymore. Thanks.

All right, so old Babs is now headless, paintless and hairless.

What's the better way to reroot hair?

1. Cut long (say, 7 inch) bundles of hair, pull one end of the bundle through a hole until it reaches the halfway point, then pull the other end of the bundle through a nearby hole.

2. Cut half-length bundles of that, knot one end of each bundle, and pull the other end through a hole.

I checked the FAQ, and I didn't see it there. I am making a small star-shaped soap bar, and I was just wondering if I could suspend that in a larger bar of soap. Would the melted soap around it melt the star as well? Also, I wanted to make a bar with just cinnamon as an additive/fragrance. Could I do that or would it turn out funky?

i have a bunch- i mean A BUNCH of hemp yarn, that has never been used and is brand new. it can be yours for the price of shipping. i have tons of skeins of 1 kilo narrow gauge rough hemp yarn. and some 500 gram balls that is thicker gauge. i used to be in the natural dye biz and ordered it wholesale. now it sits in the closet and i am on a major purge.

it is great for crochet (i don't knit so i don't know about that)- especially hats and bags.

i have about 20 skeins so claim away. send your address to sholanda13 at hotmail and we can talk about postage.

If I set the picture onto fabric using acetone or another kind of solvent, is there anything specific that I need to do to make it washer proof / sturdy on the fabric. I was thinking maybe I needed to heat set it or something, but I'm not sure, and I'd rather have your guys input ifyou've done it before so I can get it done right the first time. Bought 5 shirts for 10 dollars so I was going to use them as experimentation. Hope they turn out good! I need new t-shirts! :-)
