I've gotten back into necklace making. Not sure why I took a break from it, but I needed to make one for my hair stylist (didn't have money to tip her last time and I felt like a clod).

Anyway here are three that I made!

hii. i've been through the FAQ but i haven't really seen anything pertaining to this.
my mom and i went to joann's and she was really pumped about buying burlap to make those burlap bags with wooden handles. we bought like five yards of three different colored burlaps.

the problem im having is that the burlap and very fibery?[ im not sure if thats the word im searching for] but it sheds alot. i dont know if theres something i can put on it to sort of laminate it and avoid the fear of wearing black shirts when i use the purse.

I bought sculpy because i wanted to make a picture holder, where wire comes from the base (the sculpy) and coils to hold the pic. my question is: where do i get the wire? is there some kind of everyday something-or-other that i could get it from? also, how do i attach them after i bake the sculpy? (Because i'm assuming you can't bake both)

thanx :)

I know this isn't a craft, but while I was trying to help a girl on how to remove theatre make up stain, I came across this site and I have to say, it's the best stain removable list I've ever seen and I want to share it. Since most of us probably encounter stain problems all the time, I know this will be so useful... so here it is:

oh and the site itself is lovely with tons of vintage clothes and stuff

Hello hello craft grrrls (and guys),
I have been going to/working at a Girl Scout camp for a long time (13 years) and I finally got my dream job as Arts & crafts director! I could really use all of your help with coming up for cheap crafts I can do with children ages 5-8, 7-13, 13+ that are fun and exciting. Things done in the past are tye-dying, candle making, collages, mobiles, nature picture frames, paper making, and hemp/gimp. Any tutorials would be great because i will just print them out, put them in a notebook, and take them to the camp with me! Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry for the all-text post but a while ago someone posted something where they took these old-lady type shoes from walmart and turned them into those ballet flat-lookin shoes. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Please, please, please, I need help finding that post and I've looked until I went crazy, but I didn't find it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can give me a link, that would be MUCH appreciated. It doesn't even have to be a post from here; just if you saw something like that...

So this is my first major project I've done...

I converted this too big t-shirt )

into a nice halter top, also known as my debut
masterpiece ).

I'm pretty proud of myself. It looks good, if I do say so myself. I still have to cut off the excess fabric that I have from taking in the sides, but other than that it's basically done. How about that, huh?

Edit: This was all handsewn, by the way. I don't trust sewing machines. :P

My latest hand sewing venture is a teeny tiny thistle pouch (try saying that fast a few times!)made with kimono fabric.

Lessons leant:
- sewing small is HARD!
- must wear thimble at all times!
- thistles are cute, as long as they are not the real deal!
- must be more patient (my sewing is atrocious in this one because I rushed it)
- working with cats around is impossible!

I am sorry for the bad photos. I always seem to take them right as the lighting gets terrible.

I want to paint my nephew a train for his birthday. One of those name trains were each piece hooks together.
What kind of paint would be best to use on it so that he can still play with it?
Would I have to do anything special to it to get the paint on it?
I'm worried he will stick it in his mouth and I want the paint to be non-toxic.

Also..this is an idea I have for my future bathroom. Please tell me if you think it is a good or bad idea and any tips you may have.
I want to take ceramic tiles and have everyone I know paint one. I then want to lay them in my bathroom and have that be my floor.
This is just an idea, so I have no idea what paint to use or if there is even special tiles for that. Would I have to gloss them and fire them after I paint them?
Any pointers would be nice.

Thanks!!

I have tons of the arcylic paint and I am soooo dying to paint something. Blarg.

Hello,

I was hoping someone would be able to give me some information about the Artful Craft Sale in Vancouver Canada? I think its happening on June 4 & 5 and the Video Inn Studios on Main, but I am not sure. Does anyone here know? Thankyou.
