It's [livejournal.com profile] bombette's birthday! So she gets gorgeous things.

Chandelier earrings with chain and rose quartz.

She was an invaluable asset while I was losing weight so I think she deserves some fabulous ear bling.

I just started making earrings a few weeks ago, and here are the first three pairs I've ever made, in order.

I have trouble finding earrings that I like at stores, so I had to make my own )
Very nautical, wouldn't you say?

hi all! i was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] _sopasse who posted a pic of her homemade dress form to post a (hopefully) useful link on the same subject:

Clone yourself A Fitting Assistant

it shows you cheap and easy ways to make a dress form. a coworker passed it on and since i don't sew, i thought i'd share it with people who could actually use it.

hope it helps!!

I made a bag for my friend a while ago, she lives far away so last time i went to c her i got some good pics of it. I'm kinda lazy so it took forever and a day to finish it but she likes it...

This is a dress I designed. I'm pretty happy with most of it but I think I'm going to tighten it up a bit in the bust/waist area. It looks alittle frumpier than it should but in general I really like the design!

To make a long story short, one of my favourite red (stretchy) shirts got thrown in the dryer and it became a crop top. Since i had some extra black fabric lying around, i decided to add a layer of ruffles on the bottom of the shirt so i would actually be able to wear the shirt again.

Painting the walls of my new apartment is forbidden but I can't stand living in a plain white room. I was thinking about decorating using self adhesive vinyl. Does anybody have any warnings (ie: will it damage my walls) or hints on stenciling and cutting designs from it?

Edited to add: If anybody could direct me to a decorating community that has the same diy/indie vibe as this community it would be greatly appreciated.

i just saw the greatest thing in the drugstore! sesame street bathtime fingerpaint! (so kids can paint on the sides of the tub.) it comes in three-packs: cookie monster blue, big bird yellow, and elmo red. too cute!

it just looks really fun and if i wasn't flat broke right now, i honestly would have bought some for myself!

I got some really nice, solid color glass marbles, and want to do something with them besides put them into a jar to let the light shine through.

I was hoping I could make them into a mobile type thing, without drilling through them, and am at a loss as to what to do.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have this fabric and i want to make a purse. It's really awesome but I'd love to give it a slick gloss finish. Is there something I can put on fabric to almost laminate it? I mean, maybe I can put a coat of something over the purse when i'm done?
