I've all of a sudden fallen in love with dinos and whales.

Also, I've been painting little insects such as dragonflies and beetles on t-shirts. Yes. I'm serious...beetles. They gross me out in real life, but as a little decor, they're cute, haha.

Happy New Years.

PS.
I've got a question about crocheting. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to make a sweater? Like, a medium sized one.

I painted a giant plater with different things that represented me (sorta, it became more about what few things I couldn't actually draw out) and my boyfriend painted one with all the characters from homestar runner on it. I like his better :(

Okay, I checked the memories and couldn't really find anything to help me.
So I had this craptastic old tv table that I mod podged starburst wrappers onto. I sprayed it with acrylic sealer to seal it, but is it safe to eat off of? Also, I don't know exactly how many coats of sealer to put on to protect it from spills and whatever.
Thanks in advance,
Heather

EQuilter is donating to Doctors Without Borders now. So if you have been thinking of a large fabric order, now would be an especially good time. Or if you have been thinking of a large charitable donation, yeah. You get my drift.

It was a lovely old leather sofa...
and it's owners loved it so.

But the years had been unkind to it's leather exterior causing it to crack.

So one day it got a new lease on life.
It got a lovely green

I just want to spice up some basic black journals.
I have ribbown with crayons on it and ribbon with strawberries on it.
I also have some flower appliques I want to add to one.
The thing is..I want to use what I have here, if at all possible, to glue the ribbon and appliques to the book.
I have regular glue, super glue and rubber cement. Will any of those work? Or should I suck it up and go buy something else?

Also...here is a hat I just finished.
The pictures suck, but oh well
I guess deep down I do really miss the snow )

Hey crafters - I just saw this posted to the [livejournal.com profile] eyebeam_reblog and I thought it would be of interest to everyone here. I'm not trying to be political, I just thought that this was a unique use of/for crafts. (My apologies if this is inappropriate - please remove if necessary.)

Hello all! Seeing pictures of people's Newsboy Caps from the new Stich n Bitch Nation (..posted on another board) has made me want to try to make one. However, I'm impatient and can't go out and buy the book tonight. So, does anyone know of a pattern online for a similar hat? Preferably relativley easy as I'm still quite a novice. Thanks in advance!

And so this isn't text only )

i have an area rug thats about 5 x 7, and the color green it is clashes with my walls, so im wondering if theres a way to dye it, or possibly paint it? the rug is tiny loops, pretty much the same thing as the carpet that they have in schools and stuff. what kind of paint would work best for this? have any of you ever done this before?

I've checked all over in the memories, but I can't find a post in which someone commented about how to make fabric mod podge NOT tacky.

If someone can either tell me how to do it or direct me to the post, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

I finished the final sets of my optimistic & pessimistic valentines! :)

There are seven cards in the Pessimistic Set and six cards in the Optimistic Set. I only printed out one of each set, and will be printing out the rest as needed. In addition, I printed some matching stationery. Each set has four pieces of paper (two optimistic, two pessimistic) and two envelopes.

All cards and stationery are printed on white cardstock. The cards measure 4.25" x 2.75" (folded), and the stationery measures 5.5" x 7.5".

I got an Ashford Traveller spinning wheel for Christmas - I know I am spoiled!! I learned to spin on a drop spindle but I only spun a couple skeins before I got this beauty. Anyway this is what I have spun so far. =)

Does anybody have any magic tricks for getting gel pens to write? I've got some old ones that still obviously have ink, but won't write on anything. (grr.)
And yes, I'm trying to use them for crafty purposes-I've got some notecards that need a little....artistic editing.
(Sorry about the text-only post. I've made a new years resolution to actually make some projects this year, instead of just cooing enviously over everyone else's work, but I haven't actually gotten started yet.)

Edit-I've now tried heating the tip, and blowing in to the other end. (Thanks for all the responses, so quickly!) I do notice that the ink at the not-tip end is noticably clearer than the rest of the ink- could that be the problem? Does gel ink seperate?

(There's a little sticker on the cap that says "to revive ink, keep writing." Obviously, this didn't work either.

Does anyone know where I could purchase some strap ends (the leather things and maybe even the clips that go with them) like this:

I want to make my own camera straps and I'd really like to have those to put on them.

Thanks!
