While we were abroad my husband and I saw some people making these bracelets with wire and beads. First I needed to learn how to crochet, and then I needed to get the correct supplies to make these, but I think they came out rather nifty for my first beaded/crocheted craft ever.

ok, I lied, my FIRST attempt I finished an hour before this one, covered in brown paper and pasted a chicken on. I gave that one to my mom though so I have no picture of it. Sorry about the craposity of this photo; I left my digital camera at school so I had to use my webcam.

It was a lot easier than I expected, and didn't take that long!

Here are the first buttons and magnets I made with my new one inch buttonmaker. They are portraits I drew of my sisters’ cats. I gave them to my sisters for Christmas stocking stuffers. I posted these on craftster, too.

I bought a couple of prints of beaches/palm trees that are very vibrantly colored but the color scheme in my bedroom is quite subdued. Is there anything I can put on these prints to lighten/soften the colors? Maybe something I can just spray over the glass in the frame? Thanks for any advise!

Well, this weekend I decided to break in my new sewing machine. With a little help from my boyfriend's grandma I managed to make 3 HUGE dog and cat beds. I used some flannel fabric that I found in the dollar section at Walmart and each one is a different color. They are just like people pillows only much bigger. Thanks to everyone who offered advice. It really helped. I think my next project is going to be a few sets of curtains. I will post pictures when I can get my dang camera to work!

Oh and one more question...What kind of stuffing do you guys use? I was afraid to get the expensive stuff and waste my money so I just bought that fiberfil stuff and I am so sure it is going to bunch up into tiny balls in the washer. Any suggestions?

Got used Christmas cards you don't know what to do with?
Send them to St. Jude's hospital where children can recycle them into new cards for 15 cents profit toward their college funds and for special outings or just pocket money. Mail them to:

St. Jude's Ranch for Children
100 St. Jude's Street
Boulder City, NV 89005-1618

website: www.stjudesranch.org

(You can send any cards, not just Chirstmas.)

Paint has never been my favorite medium until recently. I've been using old records and acrylics to make simple wall hangings.

I paint on LPs. )

this is my first attempt at screen printing! it came out pretty good, even though the color is a little too dark to show up well against the black.

I finished my boyfriend's birthday quilt last night! It only took about seven hours from start to finish, and while I am not all that thrilled with how the photos turned out, I am quite happy with how the quilt turned out.

Please excuse the horrid lighting )

A while back, someone posted a pattern for a knitted flapper/20's style hat with a little knitted flower on the side. I searched and searched for it, but I just can't find it! Does anyone still have it anywhere?

So I made a tote bag for Rangers (Girl Guides). It didn't have to be much. Sorry that the sewing sucks, I haven't been sewing for long, a few months.

There are other pictures. )

hi, i'm new to the community :)

i am getting ready to go back to my second semester of school with a new bag that i love. the only minor problem with it is that it has three large compartments but no small ones for pens, knick knacks, etc. i had the i dea that i would use this little pile of cloth swatches to make a small zippered bag to keep things in to put in the book bag i'll be using. the swatches are each 7" by 4.5" rectangles. i was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for making a bag out of these. i looked in teh memories but didn't really find what i was looking for.

thanks in advance :)

so i've made another t-shirt, and the stencil came out awesome possum, so i've decided to post this here because i'm pretty happy with it, considering the fact that i made the stencil myself, as well.

good luck exploring the infinite abyss. )

The scent is "Death by Chocolate" It's german chocolate cake with a hint of vanilla mint. They're...orgasmic. My mom was at my house earlier today and wanted to know what I was baking. No baking, just 3 pounds of melted wax on the stove ;)

Anyway, thank you all for the help choosing a label, you're all gems. Well, the majority at least.

Help!

I need high quality wood dowels (cherry, walnut, ect) in metric diameters! x_x I'm willing to order off the internet if I can find them. It'll be a bitch to sand .6mm off the diameter of a dowel if I can't find, for example, a 4mm dowel and need to use a 3/16" one. Usually people don't need measurements this precise, but I'm going to make some different gauge plugs (you know, for stretched ear lobes?) for myself and some friends and maybe eventually to sell if they turn out well, so they need to be pretty accurate. Any sources would be greatly appreciated. <3
