My Valentine's Day was moved to the 18th (Friday) this year (gosh all these people are weird being all gushy and lovey Monday), because my boyfriend lives in Chicago right now and our first chance to see each other was Friday.

This year, I decided to make him everything, here are some pictures:

I have been thinking of this idea on making an elton john shirt for awhile. i have this iron on decal that i want to put on the front and then on the back i was thinking of doing something like painting the words "tiny dancer" or something cute like that. the only thing is i dont have any paint and i dont kno what kind is ok to use on shirts, so that it doesnt come off when you wash the shirt but it comes off your hands, cause i tend to be kinda messy with my art projects. :D let me know, cause i wanna do this this weekend.

In regards to this post, thank you everyone so much for all the replies!! I finally chose one saying. I think it's my favorite. I dunno, I'm so indecisive on this. I have like, 3 or 4 different quotes that I love!
Well, here's the shirt. It seems a little boring to me. Anyone have any ideas of what I should do to it? And I also have pictures of my first scarf I made!! I love it to soo much. It only took me like..2 months to FINALLY finish. Gosh, I started it forever ago and just forgot I guess. Oh well. It's done and I love it. Too bad summer is soon.

Has anyone had any experience with this:

I want to bleach (or lighten) a pair of jeans and then die them, to be later made into a purse. Now, does anyone think this will work on denim? Or should I just stick with bleach?

Thank you!

Hi

I have two questions.

the first question is that I have crocheted this bag

http://www.helloyarn.com/bigskulltote.htm

but it does not have a skull in the middle. It is just a blue bag. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I can add to the bag to spice it up. I was planning to crochet a flower, but even with the flower the bad seems kinda dull. I really want to make it special, so people will take a double look at it. I was thinking maybe I should weave some ribbon into the bad, I dont know.

My second question is I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any free crochet patterns for hats such as the animal eared hats...or the strawberry hats. I've been looking at a lot of the free crochet patterns, but the pattern are normal hat patterns. No strawberry's no cat ears..

THanks a bunch

What happens when a geekgirl loves her laptop? What happens when said girl decides that her laptop needs more personality? What if the laptop was a machine her friend gave away because he didn't want it and so if she ruins it she doesn't feel as bad?

She gets some spray paint, tape, and saran wrap and prints a bat stencil off the web..... )

Many hours of drying and a whole day stressing that she would not boot back up again and I have one damn sexy laptop. Yes, I am the coolest geekgirl on my block.

Two questions!

1. How many inches around is your wrist?

2. Would you wear one of these )? They're ribbon bracelets/wrist cuffs by the way.

So, I was pretty proud of myself, this is my first sewing project that I actually completed that I liked:)

I made a MOOSE! my boyfriend loves moose, and i couldnt find the sock moose pattern. So instead I googled it and came up with this moose pattern.

i didn't use sand in mine, i added a heart for him to carry, and the scarf is crocheted:)

Here is the moose face:

OK, I can't find anything in the memories about etching. I will search around the web, but does anyone know approximately how long to leave copper in solution?

My boyfriend is moving into his own apartment in March... and he gave me free reign to decorate the entire place. I'm super excited that he said this, yet almost completely stumped.

He helped me out a bit, he bought a rug on clearance at K-mart last weekend, and it's circular and made to look like an 8-ball. He was thinking of putting into the bathroom, so I decided I'll start there.
I was thinking of maybe using sticky-tack on the back of cards, and making a "poker" hand wall border. (since its an apartment he can't paint or anything fun).

I was also going through the memories and found the kitshy toilet seat covers... and some had pin up girls on them. I know those would be super easy to make....

So I believe this would have a Vegas theme of sorts or if anything just Bachelor like, and I would love any advice you guys have.
