I like making purses for myself, and I figured I should make them as unique and trashy as me, so here it is!

My current Photo Program doesn't allow me to resize, so it's big! )

I drew a pattern and my friend knitted this part for me... winging the pattern because my drawn pattern looked like shit. Does this look like a scooter? is it passable? should I just sew one on cut of felt?
I need opinions! This scarf has to be finished by saturday night so I need feedback on whether or not to rip the scooter out before I finish knitting the rest of the scarf.

These are three journals I did with goodies from Leandra at PaperArtsy:

The stamped area is done with Thermogauze. I rubbed it with chalk inks, and then stamped with black dye ink. Then I blasted it with a heat gun, and the Thermogauze started to decay and scorch. It's a little fragile, even after sealing it with a heavy coat of spray sealer, but I like the effect.

The handmade papers are done with viscose fibers, using the silk paper technique I have posted on my site. The purple one has flowers in it from the hydrangeas the girls at the office sent when my dad passed away last March. This is the first time I've used them---it's just been too hard to think about until now.

Hi Crafty people,

I am new here. I am into charcoal, acrylics, decoupage, fimo, bead necklaces/bracelets, leathercraft, making soaps and leathercraft. I discovered that crafty things are fun while going through some therapy for depression.

You have given me so many ideas! I will be trying stenciling soon.

I don't have a digital camera, but have a scanner, and also my mobile will soon get a cable so I can upload some of my pics too.

i made two cute bags for spring, and am presenting them to you girls (and boys) for some spring inspirations. all the fabric and handles were bought at jo-ann fabrics, though some styles might not be around anymore. the lace trim is from the 1950's bought at a thrift store.

I recently painted, podged and decorated 5 shadow boxes, all the same size, and well, I have no idea what to put in them. I want them to hang on my wall, and I have the pattern they are in. My walls are dark grey and forest green, and so I painted three boxes dark grey, and covered the other two in newspaper articles, and I'm going to put them on a green wall. My room has no real theme, aside from a lot of random zebra print and a bunch of black and white photography. Does anyone have any ideas or examples of what they've done with shadow boxes? Thanks :)

Hey, I've been watching for a while now but this is my first post.

My boyfriend's birthday falls when we'll be on holiday in New York and I wanted to make him a photo album for him to put our holiday photos in. At first I thought I would just make it like the journals in this tutorial, but with the weight of photos in it I don't think the embroidery thread or the thin card would hold up, so the whole thing needs to be a lot stronger which would probably involve drilling (something I don't have access to). So any ideas on other ways to make it? I want it to hold 36 7"x5" photos. I've looked through the memories but can't see anything. Any help greatly appreciated! <3

I am hopelessly in love with the Galliano Pirate Jacket that you can theoretically sew from a free-to-download pattern at http://www.showstudio.com/play.html (scroll down just a bit and click on "Design Download - John Galliano." I say "theoretically," because this jacket has about 60 pattern pieces and no instructions.
Here is the finished jacket - isn't is fantastic?
The Jacket

So...can anybody decipher the mass of bizarrely-shaped pattern pieces? Or alternatively, anybody want to join me in a Sew-Along in pursuit of our own Pirate Jackets? All together now..."shiver me timbers!"

Hello, I'm brand new here.

I've been in a severely crafty mood lately. Finished one project out of, maybe, 15 I'm working on currently...(WOOPS.)

I'm icky at sewing so this bag is pretty craperrific, but then again, I'm a type-A personality Capricorn. I made it for my sister who's a pretty easy going Saggitarius. She loves it. I'm adding a large plastic button on it (yellow, maybe?) and an elastic thingy to connect the top.

Feathers!

I looked in the memories and didn't see anything, so I'm posting.

I have two bags of feathers- some light teal ones (about 5 inches long and an inch/inch.5 wide) and smaller, naturally clored (brown/black/tan) ones (about an inch long and a third/half inch wide).

any cool ideas of what to do with them from you ladies?

I hate spending money on things when it's easier just to jazz them up a bit, so I dolled up some of my room things.

My sorority's semi-formal (which I am in charge of planning - eep!) is coming up in just over a month and I am looking for a creative way to ask my kinda-sorta-maybe boyfriend to go with me. I don't want anything too sappy or romantic and we are both really active and sporty and goofy. Any ideas? Thanks guys!!

Hello my dears.
Here's the deal. I've got a few bottles lying around (Jones soda, empty lava lamp, and other random things) that I never knew what to do with.
So I was recently turned onto www.tanashabitat.com where there's the COOLEST idea to use bottles as picture holders. (see here) I know it probably isn't the first time some one's heard of this, but it never occured to me.
So I've got a bunch of really neat black & white pictures that my mom took of old St. Petersburg when she was a wee one. And I'm going to put those in the bottles. But my problem is that the size of the pictures compared to the size of the bottles still leaves a lot of room where it seems something should go.
Okay, this is my point:
I want to put cutesy little fake flowers in the bottles, but not the real-looking ones they sell at craft stores and things. I want fake, cute, daisy looking things with long stems I can stick in the bottles.
I checked out the memories but the only ones that looked very promising no longer had working pictures.
Any ideas? please?

thanks so much in advance! ♥

To those who have the Speedball Screen-Printing Kit...
Do I really need to wait 24 hours for the screen filler to dry? How long have you let it dry and then used it? I'm doing my first print, and I want it to turn out well, but I'm kind of impatient!

new bag! finally! this has been in the works for many months.

btw - is it rude to not say "thank you" to everyone who comments? i never do because i don't want to artifically jack up the comment number to make it look like i'm super popular.....but i am thankful for all your kind words each time!

I put this together for a woman at work for her baby shower gift. The card read "Picked fresh from the shoe tree behind my yard. No need for water." It's basically just baby socks, booties, shoes, hand mitts, and finger puppets on dowels with flowers secured in a bouquet.

Vogue 2745

Here's a dress that I finished yesterday.

</td>

Try to disregard the wrinkle-y-ness...I'm too lazy to press it properly right now. It's a nice green satin, a little lighter than in the picture, and it's all cut on the bias. It feels wonderful. :) Like most Vogue patterns, though, it was difficult and the finishing details were impractical and nearly impossible. 1/8" rolled hems on EVERY PIECE? NO FACINGS? What the heck were they thinking? And the boobs are pointy! Last time I checked, mine aren't. I'm going to fix that before I actually wear it. Other than that, though, I'm quite pleased.
The hem is asymmetrical, that's not just from the angle the picture was shot. And you can't quite see it, but there are installed pieces on the side of the skirt. Godets, if you will. They were very tricky, but ended up looking great.

I think I'm going to make myself some kanzashi out of the scraps of fabric I have left. I have about 4.5 yards of fabric left at home, so I'll make a matching evening bag at some point, as well.

hey everyone!

well, i posted a long while back about a certain stitch that i could not for the life of me figure out. everyone suggested that daisy tool, and i never went and bought one, because i wasn't quite sure if it was it, and thought that there must be a way to do it in just crochet!

well, i haven't tried it out myself yet, but this pattern i came across looks pretty close to what i (and some others who posted) wanted.. i found it in a VOGUE KNITTING book that focused on CROCHETED SCARVES. i picked it up at barnes & noble (it's $12.95, i believe) since i had a gift card, yada yada.. the book has some other cute patterns too.

the above photos are of the book & of the photo of the scarf. it's done pretty much in scallop stitch.

oh, and also so this isn't an informative post but a little show-off as well, some new finished items:

on left: "anti pom-pom hat" in lionbrand homespun yarn
on right: irish rose attached to two long chains and worn as a belt-accessory :)
