Another one for the collection...  Might as well face it I'm addicted to bags )
[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_kristie/
i found a pattern that i loved but the bag would turn out huge so my mom made another pattern for me to my size. i found the fabric off the bargain wall and because of st. patric's day i got 50% off any fabric with green in it so this purse cost me like $12! i decided to make a coin purse to go with it and to learn how to do zipperz. i'm so excited and i love it so i thought i'd post some pictures of my new love<3

This is Katie's prayer shawl
and another shot of the same shawl. I made it for her baby shower. She absolutely loved it. It was very apt, she's Irish and the colors were very much her.

Hello hello!
It has been a long time since I last posted - just before christmas I think.
Haven't had much time to craft since then.
I was looking through some photos though and came across some Xmas gifts I made so I thought I would share. They were a big hit :)

My friend goes through boyfriends like a baby goes through diapers, so I made her a voodoo doll to get back at all the stinky bastards!
He has a pocket on his face so she can put any one of their pictures in it to customize the voodooation!
He also has all the male equipment under his loin cloth ;)
((That is what the little scissors are for!))

the power of voodoo! who do? you do! do what?! )

what household items do you use to add texture to your clay?? (like cookie cutters/dough presses etc?)

p.s. do you know of any active ceramics community??

No pictures this time. :\ Sorry. I'll try to make up for it soon, I promise!

I do have a question though.

Do any of you have a good pattern for neckties? I want to make a matching skirt and tie, but I don't have any tie patterns, and I don't think I'd be able to wing it.

Does someone maybe have a PDF file of a tie pattern? Or something? Maybe a tutorial you can hook me up with?

I checked the Memories, but I didn't find anything of the sort.

Thanks!

First time! This is what happens when boredom sets in and there is a sewing machine close by...

I found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind )

So it seems Bermuda shorts are finally overtaking the ass-hanging-out-of-the-back shorts phase (THANK GOD). The great thing about Bermuda shorts is that they are just pants, but shorter! So, I'm thinking instead of going out and buying some new ones, couldn't I just get some cheap thrift store pants and Bermuda-shorts them? I've got a sewing machine and VERY BASIC sewing skills (as in, I can sew in a straight line) but basically no experience. Could I just chop off the lower leg and hem it up, or is it more complicated than that?

THANKS!

i am soon going to start selling purses/totes and whatnot, and i am trying to come up with a name to put on the tags. i was just going to use "Samantha Rae Bags" but it's so boring and i use the same name for my photography.

but, today i thought up "Shy Girl". does that sound like a good name?

After making quite a few bags in vinyl I noticed I have heaps of scraps left over. Not wanting to waste anything I figured I'd put together a fun bag using some of the scraps and some stiff velvet type material for the lining. I think if I make another one along these lines I'm going to make the strap thinner.

This is a full shot of the bag, I used a piece of blue vinyl with white, multi blue and a white doxie cut out I had left over from my die-cut bags.

Turns out, being sick in bed for five days is good for something--a project I was a month behind on finally got finished. Woo.

How do you thank your awesome group of friends for chipping in together and buying you one of these for your birthday:

I hand sewed a lined zipper pouch - which I am going to use to store photographs - out of two old shirts using this tutorial over at craftster.org
