Does anyone in here make body jewelry, specifically nose rings? I want something bold, different, and beautiful. I love some of the styles from India, but it's so hard to find anything good and affordable here in Kentucky. I hate the stupid, cheap looking CZ pins; flowers, pot leaves, and other nonsense that are sold in stores. Everything looks the same. Can anyone help me out?

Hi guys...
I'm looking to make one of those eye mask-like things out of something that I can put in the freezer to get cold to help me with my headaches... which i have bad right now... something that would have some weight to it, and get nice and cold...

also, I'm wondering, for a heat pack, would lentils work? I've got a ton of lentils here that nobody's gonna eat, and I figure, its a seed of sorts... actually, its a legume, but it doesnt matter... actually, would dried beans work? I've got a ton around, I've got some I use to blind bake pie shells with, but, they smell wierd after baking, but I think that microwave zapping wouldnt make for the funny smell so bad...

ok, lemmie know what you think

Hi everybody! I'm new here. My name is Christina and I'm just now really getting into DIY, mainly to give myself something non-stressful to do during my breaks from school... Eww, school. Anyway, everyone here is doing totally awesome things. It is so fantastic! ^^ I'm loving the atmosphere.

Below is what I have been spending my free time doing:

Since I know a lot of you are into making things (wallets, roses, clothes...) out of duct tape (because duct tape rocks!), I thought you'd be interested to know that Lifehacker ran a link to "How to make an iPod Shuffle case out of duct tape". Not terribly pretty, but definitely interesting. I'm sure a few of you can make improvements to it :)

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried drawing on resin? I'm thinking of attempting a henna type design in the background of some of my bellydance inspired pysanky pendants, but just wanted to see if anyone else has actually tried this?

I'm assuming it will have to be a permanent marker, like a pigma micron..and that it would have to be covered with another layer of resin. Do you think it would work?

hi. i've been a member for a few weeks but have never posted here before (and don't have any pictures to post as of right now...)
anyway, like a complete idiot, i waited until basically the last minute to start my mother and grandma's gifts for mother's day. i was planning on making a collage for my grandma of she and i but not doing anything for my mom (we don't have the greatest relationship) but i decided today that i want to make her a collage too (of my brother and i). i was going to buy two of those collage picture frames but realized i do not in anyway have the money to spend 60+ dollars on them. so my question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make them or know of a fairly cheap place to buy them (in the rochester ny area, as i don't have time to order them online). i really need to get this procrastination habit under control! thanks for any help in advance!!!

Ok, my second post here I think? Something like that. Anyways, Firstly I found some awesome and cute fabric in my attic today, I dont know where it came from but the mother said it's not hers. So I've decided to make something from it. The problem is I'm not quite sure how I should go about it. I want to make a skirt but I think I need some suggestions as to what to make of it, patterns tutorials etc..
here ) are some pictures of the fabric so you can see my what I'm talking about.

Here's something I made today, inspired by a post I saw here a day or two ago. right here yo )

my brother is a senior, he runs track and is in the newspaper every week for his track meets. i had the idea to make a scrapbook of all the newspaper clippings for him to have as a senior gift. this way he can see all of his accomplishments better then keeping the newspaper clippings in a box. i was wondering, is there a certain type of book or paper i need to get that will keep the articles from turning yellow? any other tips?

thanksthanksthanks!!

Meet RubySofia! The first monster made using my Monster Box! :D

She is a gift for my boss' 10 year old daughter. Her daughter comes to work with her on Saturdays and always plays with the monsters here, or the one I gave my boss. ;)

last week i was aksing for advice on making blood splatters.

well i made the bag

and then... )

the stencil didn't quite work out. its meant to be elle driver from kill bill but the stencil bled around the eyes. pretty much screwing up the whole thing (you couldn't see the eyepatch or anything) so i turned it into a block over her eyes. so now its just a nurse bag.

I've been crafting like crazy lately - trying to develop a stockpile. Unfortunately due to a mishap with my blanket this morning, I seem to have a rather badly strained wrist (I really shouldn't be typing - naughty me!). I think I need to give my wrist a few nights break...at least, until it isn't painful to move anymore.

Anyhow - on with the goodies! Please excuse the colours if they seem a bit wonky - I can never take good clear photographs at night.

Mandatory teaser photograph:

Lots more photographs of goodies under the cut! )

Where can I find interesting chain? Not jewelry-type chain, but heavier links. I'm not interested in the kind in the kits sold for hanging plants, nor the heavy plain link machinery chain, and not "dog collar/lead stuff, either. I need something more...I don't know...unusual. Vintage/medieval style/antique-y. If I could find a place that had a varied selection....
