Thank you for all the help regarding the wedding quilt.
I really appreciate all of the advice.

I made super easy pompom toy for my bf's cat Slash. He's not crazy about it but one of their other cats loves it.

so, i bought these letters from wal-mart for .84 cents, and they didn't work out as good as i'd hoped. but they're still great! the only blank shirt i had to work with was this wifebeater that i have. (well, husband beater since it's now a girl's? haha.)

anyway, i thought i'd post it cause i love it.

if anyone knows of better lettering for almost just as cheap, please let me know.

question: can arcylic paints be used on clothes, or will it wash out? what do you masterminds recommend besides that puff paint stuff?

oh, it means i love you in french.

I wrote a tutorial for making paper casts in my journal this morning, and here is the link, for anyone else who is interested in following along.

who has heard of or participated in the making of "tear bears"?

i'm thinking of making a pattern and selling it along with the paper i'm making (not here of course). but i'm not scrapbook savvy so i don't know if this is truely a popular thing. i've just noticed that patterns are impossible to find on the web and the book of patterns that people are crowing over is not so easy or cheap to get.

because the truth is that i am addicted to making paper. it has only been a few days and i can't get enough of it. i've gotten a few thin sheets, but mostly it is card stock thick. while i plan to use some of it to mount my photos on, there will be much left over. so i went searching for alternate uses. and while i find the tear bears cute as all get out, i'm not a real beary kind of person.

I finished the "Jagged Stripe Scarf (Heart to heart)" from Vogue Knitting: Crocheted Scarves (On The Go!). I was pretty much done with it weeks ago, except that I didn't weave in the ends, attach the hearts, and add the fringe. I did all that stuff today, and my mom saw I was working on it and loves it - so I'm going to give it to her as a super belated mother's day gift. I was knitting her a hat, but it turned out too small (I didn't gauge my yarn correctly), so this should make up for it. :)

Hey there, first time poster here. I recently bought a bunch of utterly random objects for a photography project and now I don't know what to do with them, if anything. Maybe you guys have some ideas? The items are:

  • Phone cord (the kind that looks like this.) Mine is about 50 feet long and white.
  • 7 wiffle balls (they look like this)
  • A whole bunch of multi colored golf tees
  • A whole bunch of marbles. Not the flat sided kind but the regular kind.

Any ideas? Thanks!

lots and lots of my handmade photo / beaded / bejeweled / plastic / charms.

i posted my fairy ones a while back.  these are the same idea but i added jewels to some.  tried different glues.  still haven't found the best glue yet.  any help there?  what is the best glue to use when you make those marble magnets?  this is pretty much the same thing.  i've heard of people using a silicone glue, that sounds like it might work really good.  for these i used tacky glue and e6000.

Okay, so a few weeks ago I promised my prom date I'd make him his own bowtie to wear to prom. My prom is next Friday (the 27th) and I'm having trouble finding patterns / tutorials online like I had expected. Does anyone have a link to a pattern and or tutorial? I googled it and all I found was this weird tutorial with no pattern pictures or anything which wasn't very helpful. Thanks in advance :)

Thought I'd show you guys a couple of my latest paintings. I'm trying out some new characters. Monkeys and giraffes on the way! :)

Let me know what you all think.... and also if you'd prefer them be behind a cut.

Rock Mat

Well, I finished my rock-covered welcome mat! The idea came from this post, but I did it a little differently (ie, covered the whole mat and didn't need to worry about cutting any of it away).

It took quite a while, and was a bit costly (I like cheap crafts!), but I am really proud of how well it turned out. It feels nice to walk on with bare feet! It's like a little massage.. The mat measures approximately 23x16". If you'd like some more details of the process, check out this post in my personal journal.

Does anybody know of any really good websites to get one of a kind yarn--BESIDES plucky fluff.com?

Well I have been working on a new painting of a Autumn colored greenman and am stuck. I orginally did him with Green Eyes and then Lee said he thought it would look better with brown. Well I decided to change them so I painted them brouwn. Now I can't decided what color they should be, I think I liked them better as green but I thought I would post and see what the concencis is. Should the eyes be left brown or changed back to green again?

title or description

Ps Lee photoshoped the eyes to turn them green again but it is pretty close to what I orginally had it :)

Upon the sad realization that summer was about to hit me hard I decided I needed to upgrade my wardrobe with some more summer friendly skirts. Not mini-skirts though! Ohh-ho-ho – for this dorky ol’ goth – it is floor length black skirts in a nice natural loose weave linen. Nothing beats natural loose weave fiber for summer! Synthetics can bite my butt.

I drafted the pattern from an existing A-line skirt I had – but made it much longer so it just touches the ground – I also added a wide waistband and it fastens up by way of a zipper and hook closure in the left hand seam. I also top stitched all the seams to give it a more professional look. I was quite happy with how it turned out – except for the fact linen attracts cat hair like a moth to light! Please pardon the wrinkles in the skirt - I have been wearing it all day :P

I also made a green, glass bead string necklace... Although I wear black most of the time - I adore bright coloured, contrasting accessories (evident by all those kanzashi I keep making D= ). I also love long stringed necklaces that you can wrap around a few times - like a long strand of pearls, or other beads - I think they look elegant and chic. The necklace I made is nothing fancy or complicated - but I'm very happy with it :]

So, I'm currently working on making a website to sell my crochet monsters/animals on, and my roommate the graphic design major is helping me out with my graphics. So I have made her a crochet hat in return (and bought expensive fancy paper for her, haha).

Come see! )
