After seeing this post over at Craftster, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=9379.0 , I'm thinking that I should make my sister some Green Day-inspired shoes (she's boderline obsessesed). The thing is: I am totally clueless in all things related to Green Day. Do they have liike maybe a color scheme or a logo or something? I was thinking of printing song lyrics on the shoes but I'd like to throw in something else like a picture or something. Please help, I know there has to be a Green Day fan on here. :)

hey girls!

i'm getting married to the awesomest man ever on september 17th, 2005. (that's a little over 3 months away) everything is going great, and we've been really fortunate to find a lot of vendors/people to work with that are artists, not companies. we're getting married in a historic theater (built in 1930,) and all of the money is going towards the restoration.

anyway, i'm looking for someone to make some beaded jewelry for my bridesmaids to give to them as gifts and to wear during the wedding. i would need 5 sets of necklaces and earrings, and i'm hoping to find someone to handmake them rather than buy them at the mall.

i've posted/lurked in this community forever, and seen a bunch of really awesome beadwork over the years.

if anyone would be interested in a little commission work, drop me an email at coreymarie@gmail.com

As suggested by [livejournal.com profile] tummymunkey: crocheted tampon cozies!

A banana & a uterus. X_o

Edit: Threw out the original banana & made a new one partially peeled. I like this much better. :)

I have been watching all you girls with all your lovely sewing projects for quite a while, and want to see if i like it. How did you learn to sew? Did you scrounge up a machine and wing it? Take lessons or a class? (If so how much did you pay for how many hours?) Did your (insert family member here) teach you? When did you feel confident that you knew enough or liked it enough to get your own machine? My mother-in-law used to have a business that revolved around sewing, she has a regular machine and a serger i believe, but has terrible tennis elbow and crappy arthritis that keeps her from doing much sewing these days. I think she would be happy to teach me provided we took it easy, but i am hesitant because well...it sounds like a bad idea. We like eachother just fine, but I have some reservations. There is a sewing¬ions store in the area that is going to start beginners lessons for about 45 dollars (canadian dollars if you are american think between 35-40 dollars) for 10 hours of instruction with a class size of 4. The main project would be pyjamas. Does this sound decent? I think that me and my MIL would probably bond well over sewing...but i don't wanna put her through my clueless stage. What do you think?

Hi guys!
I've been sick most of this week (got stuck in the hospital over the weekend before last, and I've been recuperating... (when you're having insurance issues, you can usually get out a little faster than usually advised) So, I've had a mondo amount of time to do all sorts of creative stuff...

Ok, I have a question. Does anyone know of a good website that sells plain clothing to use for projects? Not just clothing either, stuff like totes also.
