I really hate Gwen Stefani for making it absolutely impossible for me to write the word "banana" without spelling it to the tune of her damn song.

Hey all!

I finally uploaded my pictures from my dig camera last night. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the other faery frame I made yet, but I will one of these days.

But here is the frame I made for my sister. You can't see it very well in the picture but in the lower corner of the glass says "Faery Godmother" in frosty paint. Oh and the picture in the frame isn't of my little guy, it's a friend's nephew.

Enjoy!

I want to make a purse like this:

close up )

I've never made a purse before, so I intend on getting lots of practice before I make it.

My question is, where would I get a purse frame/body like that? I'm guessing its a box frame?, but I can't find any with the caged look, I can only find the top frame closure pieces.

There was something in my bed this morning

and what transpired )

This little reversible monster started out as a little knit pouch I didn't like much. I pulled out the bottom of it, and reknit it in a tube shape. The orange side is quilting cotton, machine sewn into shape, then hand-stitched to the white part. The faces (hand embroidered... which I'm getting better at!), probably would've been easier if I did them before putting the two sides together. Hair is hand-dyed wool yarn.

good for a night's work, ne?

I combined my mom's Mother's Day gift with her birthday gift since I wasn't quite done with it so I saved it for her birthday and just gave her the card I got her. She was happy with it, but I wasn't satisfied. It is hard not to give someone something when you have it for him or her. My beautiful and creative daughter, Aly helped me with it and her little brother; Xander also helped by lending his handprints for a paper that has a little poem on it.

Pattern?

I looked through the memories for bag tutorials, but most of the images don't work so here's my question: Does anyone have or know where I can find a pattern to make a bag like this?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I'm in love with it, but I'm not fond of the size and fabrics that they have of it at Old Navy and wanted to make my own if it's not that difficult. And even if it is hard, with a pattern I am sure I can figure it out.

Thank you so much!!

Hi!
I am trying to find out more about getting postcards and stationery sets printed. I've been looking online, but my search so far has only led me to postcard printing sites that don't seem to offer what exactly what I'm looking for. I want to be able to print good quality, full-colour, matte finish postcards out of my art. Do any of you have any experience with this? Same with stationery sets, I have no idea how to go about having those made up. I looked around in the memories section but didn't see anything covering this, but maybe I missed it. Does anyone have any advice, or helpful links? Thanks so much!

This month's month of softies theme is "june bug". So today I took my dizzy, hazy, sickly self down to the sewing machine and created a beetle type bug. I call him Dale.

I like his chubbiness. )
