I got new melt-and-pour base yesterday, and I kind of went a little nuts with it.

Bored and feeling blechy...  I am involved in this swap on www.crafster.org where you send three people stuff for their birthday.  If you are involved in that swap you probably shouldn't look here.  My first birthday to craft for is coming up so i thought I should get started.  I decided to make her a "Reading is Sexy" tote bag, inspired by this ... http://shallowlikeus.corknut.org/wp-content/rorytshirt.png , off an episode of gilmore girls, but I probably don't have to tell everyone that I'm not great at stencilling.  So I quit that endeavor... but made a reversible tote bag just to see if I could.

Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I read tarot cards in my spare time, and decided last night that I should make my own deck. I'm a huge Desperate Housewives fan and thought it'd be particularly awesome to make a complete DH deck using the appropriate artistically-altered screencaps and images... and while it works in my head, I have no idea what kind of paper to use! I like that my deck now has slightly rounded edges, and is nice and thick for shuffling, but I have no idea how to go about making these cards. Do you think I could make them mostly on the computer, print out the images and then use a thick laminate to make them sturdy, or is there a better way of going about this? I want the cards to be uniform in size and edges, is there a tool for cutting rounded edges uniformly? I know there's a regular paper cutter with the grid on it for making lots of papers the same size and all, but I don't want straight edges on the corners.
I'm going to take my time on this project, but any pointers you could give before I set out to do this would be awesome.

(I figured somebody in the world already thought of this, or maybe not, but since I don't have any exclusive handwritten permission to use DH stuff I'm not going to try to sell my deck on eBay, or be a nazi about other people taking the idea, so by all means go for it if it interests you.)

:) Thanks in advance. <3

I'm going to put our names on he front of each leg but I need more letters.
So I'm off to walmart for some more cheapo letters.
These are a pain in the butt by the way it took me about 45 mins to finish this when it says it only takes 25 seconds for each letter.
Anyway I love them and hope he does too.

I checked the memories before posting but couldn't find anything really related to this topic:

I'm looking to bejewel some fabrics and I was curious to know if anybody had used a tool of higher quality than the $20 bejeweler at every craft store. I had it once and found it did a pretty mediocre job of securely fastening studs. I'm gonna be using swarovskis, and I really want them to stay. I don't want to glue on if possible, unless there is some kind of ridiculously strong glue you'd recommend also. Also, where can you get the backings for cheap?

Thanks!

I'm searching for instructions on how to make stencils from pics on the computer. Anyone know where I can find such instructions? It would sure help me make the stencils everyone's always asking for .... (hint, hint).

Thanks!

So... I was clearing out my scrapbox (which is actually a plastic bag) today and relised that I have dozens of tiny little bits (some of them about 1x10cm) which I'll never do anything with. They're all different fabrics, woven, felt, knitted, check, polka-dots... heck, some of them are just bits of wool.

Instead of throwing them away, like a sensible person, I want to make something out of them. Any suggestions?

(I'm a newbie, by the way. Hi, everyone! You make pretty things.)

I embroidered a little pouch based on this tutorial on craftster http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10165.0
this is my first completed sewing project that's not a cat toy.

I'm finally getting decent at spinning, so I thought I'd show off my latest creations. =]

Orange + Turquoise, and Pink! )

Also, a couple questions:
I use a drop spindle, but can only spin 100-150 feet before it gets full... Do they make bigger drop spindles, or is there a way to connect one spun skein to a second without tying a knot?
Also, I hang my yarn to dry after setting it, but is there any real reason it can't go in the dryer? I tried it with one skein, and it didn't felt up or anything, but are there any issues that might come up if I dry them like that?

Help Me?

OKay ladies, I've been a patient girl. But my patience only goes so far.

Through some books and a premade granny square, I've got a good hand on the stitches and I've been busy making a purse and the top half of a granny square bikini (ooohhh). But. . .

I am sick of making row after row. I want to make toys and stuffed animals (I've got some kiddie birthdays coming up here, including a first birthday), but I can't master making circles that don't turn into tubes or fuzzy doilies.

So my question is, do any of you know what I am doing wrong? Its fustrating me and no one I know locally crochets.

So close. . . . .

was sitting and watching tv last night and decided to paint this wood box that I had sitting around that I think was from something that Lee's parents bought. The box was really light weight wood so I didn't want to try to sell it and thought I would keep the box for myself. I think it turned out pretty good the only thing that didn't turn out right in the pic is the border is actually a dark purple and the paint in the border is a pale pale green.
