I finally got my Hufflepuff costume all finished! Yay! These aren't the best photos of it ever, but I didn't have such good lighting conditions (the one break in the constant storms we've been having) and I had to take them myself (no one home at the minute to do so). So here it is! I can't wait to run around in it on Friday night!

azuree

azuree was commissioned by a lovely lovely girl from [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl who wanted red and blonde dreadlocks, kitty-ears, and a sapphire blue dress. i thought she turned out quite pretty and was actually a bit sad to see her go...at least i still have the pretty pictures!

her hair was carefully and painstakingly made by using the boil method for human sized synthetic dreads, only much much smaller. each lock was made individually and glued onto her wee little head. her shirt is a pretty handmade paper i found and decoupaged in place. the rest is the usual: sculpey, wire, paint, blah blah blah.

I hope someone can help me around here!!! I want to make a zine/comic (for my boyfriend). However I cannot fold the damn thing. The style i am after is the type that is folded and cut in the center, then pushed up to make pages - mini/pocket sized. I hope that is clear. Can anyone help me? I searched google with no luck. :(

This is my first post to this community although I've been a stalker for quite some time. ^_^ Here are 4 projects that I've taken pictures of, but they're obviously not everything I've ever done.

Not too shabby for someone who's been sewing for less than a year, I guess.

I just won a lovely Singer circular stitcher from Ebay for my vintage Touch n Sew 630e (a STEAL at $25 from St Vinny's!). Apparently, it promises me that it will create loverly circles and circular patters without looking shakey or cheap. However, mine does not come with instructions...and I have no effing clue as to how to use it!

Does anyone know how these things work?

Hey I was wondering if any of you guys have some good recipies for home-made clay? Maybe something of the consistency of polymer clay, or ceramic clay...just something that will hold its shape. Thanks!

I was doing a search for record crafts and stumbled across the idea for record coasters on some random craft forum and my boyfriend and I decided to try it with some records we got for a quarter a piece at an antique mall. We put them in the oven and then used scissors to cut them, well my  boyfriend did, and he says i'm not allowed to take credit for the cutting! (I have scissors that can cut through a penny, they cut through records super-easily.) We used felt for the bottom of the coaster and used a thin coat of mod podge on the top of the coaster.

I was tracing off pattern pieces ready to start work on the jacket from the New Look pattern 6159 and I realised I have lost the instruction sheet! Does anyone have this pattern - if so would you mind scanning or taking a photo of the directions for me? My email address is insidethebullet AT gmail.com
Thanks!

I've pretty much been stalking this community for a lifetime and have always been a little too nervous to join and post. But today I decided to be bold and go for it, especially since everyone here is usually so nice and supportive. So...

here we go )

I made these today. Not sure what to call them but they started out as little wood blocks that my father in law made me.
I added some paint, stamps, money, and random objects I have in my craft bin and ta da! Here they are.

Just to inform the masses I was at Big Lots today [thank you Jesus <3] and they had many an assortment of these bead kits that, by my glance, contained..: Sead beads, biggggggg beads that corrdinated/had patterns and maybe even a beading tool of some sort. Like I said it was only a glance. I live in Central Florida so I'm not sure if they will have them at your big lots but yeah. I think the whole pack was about $2.99 or so and there were QUITE a few beads. They had different color sead beads with the big corrdianting beads like pink and such.

Have a nice day. :)

Does anyone know of any good sites where I can print out some stencils for free? Everything I'm turning up is for buying them, and quite frankly, my dear, I'm too goldarn cheap.

The jewelry was commissioned, aventurine and silver leaf charms (I do believe). The bottles are bubble bottles. The green one is totally mine.
