I had wanted to do "Pirate Grog" or something, but the font really does need the capital "C"s to look like the CocaCola logo, so I went with CorsairCola:

(If the images aren't showing, I have nooooo idea why. They work for me...)

Does anyone know if the craft store Michaels has those bee's wax sheets that some people on here have made the sushi candles out of? I have some friends who would love that as a gift so i'm trying to find those wax sheets, if not Michaels does anyone know who does have them? I went to hobby lobby and they didn't. :(

Thanks!

So yes... I too caved in and bought the knifty knitter... hell it was only $10 at Michael's. So I am now in love with it! I made two hats last night...

I did this one awhile ago, but it's my most loved baby hat which I made using the smallest circle. it's great for newborns and premies, and works well if you want to make a lot for a hospital that has an intensive care unit for babies.

but here's my true passion right here:

Please let me know what you think!

i'm about to try this screen printing tutorial, and it says i need to use non water-soluble glue. basically, the glue goes where you don't want the screen printing ink to go; the glue acts as a barrier, so i'm assuming water-soluble glue would let the paint through...?

well, how do you know if your glue is water soluble? i forgot to get mod podge when i got my recent batch of craft things. i think all i have on hand are regular elmer's glue, a hot glue gun, and a tiny bit of super glue. will regular glue work, or at least the glue gun? can the elmer's glue work if i just let it dry before pouring the ink over it?

i just want to double check before i ruin a shirt...

Not having any of the fundamentals of gift wrapping available (i.e. giftwrap, tape, scissors, ribbon, gift tag), I was forced to improvise.

I wrapped my friends' Christmas presents in tissue paper the department store wrapped the clothes I bought last month (nice blue and green stripes), tied up with merino handspun yarn I wound off the bobbin on my spinning wheel. Then, I took some file folder labels (the kind with the colored stripe across the top) and wrote their names on them. Then I popped them in the Global Priority Tyvec envelope and sent them off.

Hopefully, they won't turn them in to the PSNI as suspicious packages.

EDIT: On the suggestion of [livejournal.com profile] homicideisgood,What do you do when you need to wrap a present STAT?

I made four of these little folk this week as well. They're a similar design to the demented elf chick I made a few weeks ago, but they're a little larger than the size of my pinkie up to the first knuckle, and I'm going to tie them onto gifts, sort of as an extra. I need to make about four more of these still. The only thing that bugs me about them is that I couldn't manage an outline around the neck because the space was too tight for a steady outline. But I'm probably the only one who would notice anyway.

For the record, Nezumi prefers the term "Mad Genius". It's so much more dignified than "Dangerous Lunatic".

But who? Who could this new Cozy be?

I started off intending to make a demented unicorn willy warmer (ETA: sorry about forgetting the noun there), but somehow ended up with a punk rock owl warmer (ETA: again with that pesky missing noun thing) instead.

hoo hoo )

I like happy accidents. :)

I am going to go buy plain round magnets this evening and I was wondering what kind of adhesive I should use to put regular printed out pictures on them.
Or should I just buy adhesive paper?
Thanks! :D

Hello all,

I'm attempting to fuse a homemade applique to a shirt I just reconstructed (pics coming soon!).
I purchased Lite Steam-to-Seam double sided fusible webbing.
And I can't figure it out!
The instructions are so annoying.

Right now I have somehow attached the webbing to the applique, but now it's not fusing onto the shirt.
I don't feel any sticky stuff on it.

If anyone has experience with this product, or something similiar, I'm begging for help!

Please and THANK YOU!!

Hi,
I made this wallet for my cousin to help her with her New Year's resolution. She wants to be a vegetarian and in the past two years has given up eating all meat but chicken. She especially likes chicken nuggets. I'm hoping that everytime she takes out her wallet to get money to buy chicken to eat, it'll remind her of her goal of becoming a vegetarian.

Here's a pic of the wallet I made her from duct tape and felt. I glued some googly eyes and embroidered the beak and feet of the lil chicken in front.

Last time I posted about my comic I got a wonderful response, with some really helpful CC, so I thought I'd keep you all up to date on its progress ;)

To solve the "it's ridiculously tiny" problem, I've made a special Large Print version for people with bigger screen resolutions (I'm keeping the tiny size as well for people with smaller screens. Nobody likes horizontal scrolling!)

I'd be really interested in recieving your comments and suggestions!
