Hey guys.
I got a badge-a-minit for christmas and I can't seem to master the art of making wearable badges.
It seems that the picture never gets properly tucked under the back bit during the final stage.
It kinda looks like it has moved while I was pressing it or something.
Anyway, one side always ends up looking messy.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, and preferably how to fix it?
Thankyou heaps.

I'm wondering about making things like cups and plates and such. Kids projects mainly I guess. A few questions that for some reason I haven't been able to google up answers to. This is all making it out of clay (either polymer or Das..I'm thinking das air-drying clay).

1. What kind of paints would you use? Acrylics are okay?
2. What do you seal it with or put over the top so that it's safe to eat off of? Or do you really need to find a craft place with a kiln to make these kinds of projects?

Thanks for any help =3

And in the spirit of things, I finally finished the boy's Christmas gift (well, one out of the three gifts he's getting).

Finally finished them tonight!! My friend seemed happy with them, I hope her cousins like them too. The first one is kind of messy but the second came out a little better.

And for those of you who were wondering, I used this tutorial and altered it to fit my needs. It's a really great tutorial! I'm probably going to make cases for tons of stuff just like that.

Ok, so a friend of mine has asked me to knit him a scarf. As for colours and such, he wants me to surprise him. Hmmmm... any colour/yarn suggestions? He's never owned anything knitted before, (he's from Barbados) so I'd like to make something really nifty ;)

Okay so back then when I was surfing the net I found a book that showed how to make crafty felt food. I was wondering if you guys know what I'm talking about? Not crochet but felt.

You know like MyPaperCrane? Anyone any books like this?
[identity profile] justinfinite.livejournal.com
Apologies if anybody is offended by this...

Okay... so this was inspired by www.mypapercrane.com and www.cherrymix.com (mostly MPC ;) heh)... I debated over a ton of different food items, but since he really likes Mexican food, I decided on a taco. :) I used felt, different fabrics, different-sized pompoms, little gemstone things, squeeze tubs of fabric paint, um... sticky felt for the eyes, and for the cheese, i used yellow rickrack. <3

Enjoy!!!

now that Christmas is almost done through;

what are some possible crafty ideas for used wrapping paper?

it's such a shame to throw all the pretty paper out, and especially after spending so much money on it.
it really is tedious.

this isn't so much for my use, but thoughts for everyone who'd like to save another garbage bag this holiday season.

hello everyone and happy holidays! i was given a mini ipod for christmas and was in search of a pattern or some ideas for a case/cozy. i have limited experience with knitting/crochet, but i have a sewing machine, and lots of other tools for anything else. i looked in the memories and found the mint tin idea, just looking for a few others. thanks for your time!

I just bought the 8.25" x 5" sketchbook about a week ago and have yet to do anything with it. I happen to have textile ink and want to put something on the front cover, but I doubt my ink will stick to the cover it comes in. So. Using a somewhat stretchy fabric, I've decided to make a cover for my moleskine. My question is, how will I get it to stay on there? The fabric is a thin, 92% polyester, 8% spandex blend from a shirt I bought years ago and looks like this ) . What do you think?

So, I got a pile of bookstore money for christmas, and I'm wondering what's a really good general crafting book to get with some neat ideas out of it?

I don't know if anybody has seen the internet LJ archive www.ljseek.com, but for those of you lamenting the loss of all the resources from [livejournal.com profile] crochet, you can find 1152 cached entries as recent as Dec. 21 here:

http://www.ljseek.com/users/crochet/

Make sure you click the "cached" link for each entry, where LJseek has saved copies, rather than the link to the actual entry on LJ, or you will be taken to the deleted post.

This is going to be x-posted like a mofo, since I'm sure many people will be looking for the information. Sorry if you see it more than once.

Here's one of about a million sweaters I've made for my li'l Italian Greyhound, Ned, to wear against the weather.

He needs the extra layer, so I don't feel entirely silly churning out a new concoction a few times a month. Since he's got a weird body, no doggie sweater patterns ever work, so I find that I invent patterns for each "look" I'm trying to achieve. This fashionable number has a cowl neck and sleeves. Fancy-Ned!
