So, I take a holiday portrait of my ferret Toad for each “holiday” that comes around.  Mostly for a calendar I’ve been working on for a while.  I figured, since I had nothing to do this evening I’d make him a pair of bunny ears for his Easter portrait.  So, here is a picture of the half asleep not amused Toad, the ferret modeling a pair of crochet bunny ears.

Another bag!

This is the tote I've made for my wonderful friend Roni for school stuff, and for those instances where you just kind of want a huge ass bag. It might make a good grocery bag, actually.

so i got a whole bunch of nice, new fabric last weekend. i ordered two prints from reprodepot.com and found another one at wal-mart.

and, i used interfacing for the first time. i kind of like it.

i've made two bags, using one of the reprodepot prints and the wal-mart one. here they are:

(elvis. he's from wal-mart.)

(countdown. this is from reprodepot.)

plus three )

i finished the elvis bag while watching grey's anatomy last sunday, so i used it for school all this week. it was surprising how many of my fellow high schoolers were all "elvis! oh my god, i love him!" "elvis is so hot!" etc.

thanks for looking! :D

I picked up six mirrors from goodwill yesterday... the frames are in good shape but the mirrors are a little funky (they're the cheap kind). I don't really want to take the mirrors out and use the frames..

I was thinking of etching something onto the mirrors. Can I use the glass etching stuff? (the brand names escape me right now...)

thanks!

Hello Everyone! It's been awhile since I've posted a new crafty good. I've had a bit of craft ADD lately. I think I'm working on 5 or 6 projects right now. But here is one that I have completed.

This is the only place that I could think of to ask about this.

Does anyone know how to make a kind of silver-cleaner substance out of household materials? I was thinking about something involving baking soda, but then my mind just went blank. I have this necklace that I made, and it's starting to either tarnish or just get a bit dirty. I tried washing it wth soap and water, but no dice.

Any ideas?

Applique?

Hi, Ladies.

sorry for a text only post. I have been in somewhat of a craft-rut lately. I know, it's terrible!

The memories section is not working right now, so I knew you gals would be able to help me. I have an old blue pull-over hoodie that I want to liven up a bit with some fabric patches, maybe some elbow patches, we'll see. But my question is, how do I applique?

I have a sewing machine and I feel like it would be easy with that, just sewing the edge to the sweatshirt? However, my problem is that I want to applique fabric onto the sleeves and front pouch, places that I can't maneuver a sewing machine in.

So...if I am to sew the fabric on by hand, what type of stich do I use? Should I hem the pieces before sewing them on so they they don't frey?

help! :)

Thanks!!!!

Hey! I'm goint to be leading a beging knitting workshop in a couple of months, and I need some help finding a project. It's at a camp, for 13-19 year olds, and it'll only be for an hour or two, so I'd rather not do a scarf. I'm thinking that a basic beanbag would be the best idea, but I'm looking for ways to make it a little more interesting, and I'm drawing a total blank. Any ideas?

I've been trying to make something everyday. I made these painted wooden pins this morning while watching a movie.

I have some beautiful wool destined for felting (and a project to go along with). And I have heard people preaching hand-felting, and machine felting... Which do you all think is better? (and how does one felt properly?) My end project is needle/chopstick holders, so basically making a felted testube. Help?

So I want to buy a puter and decorate it, can anyone suggest a paint/spraypaint/paintmarker that will handle well/wear well on the plastic case of a computer?

I've been meaning to write this up for a while - I did a lot of these for Christmas, but then a few weeks ago I finally made another one and *took pictures* this time. :) This isn't so much a pattern as it is a quick tutorial - it's sort of a freeform project, with a few general guidelines:

Crocheted Cupcakes

Okay, I'm having serious issues. Laugh all you want.
I just bought Making Memories Eyelets and they're in little round plastic containers. I can't figure out how the hell to get the containers open. I've seriously been sitting here for like 15 minutes trying to figure it out and I decided to give up and ask here. I'm quite resourceful, but these things are killing me. Hahahah.

TWI is a webcomic about a craft circle and all their adventures involving The Boyfriend Curse, inappropriate superglue and the consequences of putting a crayon in your hot glue gun. It updates on Mondays and Thursdays, and there are large- and small-print versions.

Please tell me what you think!

I know I've already posted advertising this here, but I figured enough time had elapsed to make this permissable ;)

sorry for the text only post...
i was just wondering:

does anyone have any ideas for crafts that can be done at the office?
i work a 10 hour shift, at the tv station that broadcasts the olympics... but most of my shift is super slow. i made little paper valentines (think old school!) on monday, which seemed to make the day go by a little quicker... so i'm wondering if i can profit off of your ideas, for some quick pastimes ;)

I work at a florist (only part time, no real design, or anything) and today at work, we were a bit slow so, I made this corsage! The rose was destined for the trash, and I was sick of seeing all the corsages with the fake greenery and sparkly fake baby's breath. So, I whipped up this corsage! It's only the third I've ever done, but I really like how it turned out.

Image hosting by Photobucket

I even made the bow. +2 views )

Unfortnately, the rose is very old and isn't going to last much longer and I have no occassion for which to wear the corsage. So, I guess it will just remain on my desk shelf, looking pretty until it dries out. : )

I've got alot of ideas for crafts and no time!
[identity profile] crunk-caitlin.livejournal.com
oh yeah.
I forgot to mention this on my last post, but I was looking around for different charities to donate knitted things to, and I've noticed a lot of people in here knit, so I just wanted to share this site.
www.motherbearproject.org/index

You knit teddy bears and they send them kids in Africa who either have AIDS or are affected by AIDS.
I'm going to share this with my schools knitting group (yes, we have a knitting club!)on tuesday and see if I can get people to make bears for the kids over there.

QUESTION?

Have any of you bought the Kreate-a-lope Envelope Kit?

I'm thinking of buying one but wanted to hear some of your feedback
on it. Thanks.
