I made these this evening to be sold at our performance of "The Vagina Monologues" in northern Virginia this weekend. This is my first attempt at making cards that aren't going directly to friends, so feedback is appreciated.

It was love lights and paintings last time and now for my second post I will show my precious gems. Well, if you count beads and wire as precious gems.

http://tkgshophop.blogspot.com/ has information and a link to register and also some photos of some of the yarns in the yarn samples!

It's coming up pretty fast! I'm going again and not just because I'm helping out on it! It was so much fun last year I can't wait for this year.

Sign up! Tell your friends! Also if you have any questions ask away and I'll answer what I can (and what I can't I'm sure I can find out fast)

sorry for no pics, but i need your crafty resources!

for our upcoming anniversary, i want to make my boyfriend a tee shirt that says "i crafty girls" or something to that effect. since i've left til virtually the last minute (it's in a couple weeks), i was looking to use those nifty iron-on letters. i've never done any stenciling and i'm not looking to try it just yet!

my problem is that i can't seem to find the letters i want! i've found these:
http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=gc0244

but they're athletic-looking. i want the more bubbly-looking letters...you know, like the font from the 70s-80s? kinda like this:

http://www.joanns.com/catalog.jhtml;$sessionid$YCSKTKYAACZ44P4SY5LRIHR50LD3UEPO?CATID=82336&PRODID=111221&source=search

but not glittery or gold.

i'm also looking for a heart! those don't come with the letters :)

can anyone recommend a good site to find what i'm looking for?? i don't have a printer so i can't use the transfer paper stuff i saw.

help!! thanks in advance!!

OK, so this may be a dumb question, but I'm hoping that you ladies (and gents) can help me with it anyhow!

I've heard about making corn-filled pillows that can be microwaved or frozen to use therapeutically on sore muscles, etc. I want to make one as a present for a friend of mine, in fact. We have plenty of plain corn kernels, as my gf has a hot-air popper and we have lots of the plain corn for her to use. BUT--when you microwave it, wouldn't the corn pop? Do I just have to crack the corn first to prevent this? Or do I need to use a completely different kind of corn, like field corn that might be sold for squirrels/birds?

Thanks in advance, and sorry I've no pictures--we only recently got a digital camera and still haven't quite made it work. Soon, I hope!

Just a link of patterns, if this is not allowed, mod please delete.

I know all of us wanted to make gifts for our friends or family or ourselves w/ some cool baby stuff. I stumbled upon this link when I was looking for a pattern for my boss, who wanted a grocery cart cover for her baby. The site is done by [livejournal.com profile] jan_andrea thought I put the link out there for reference, and give prop where it deserves!

Hi,

I'm pretty new here and have looked at your crafts (which are so awesome) but I have a question. My friends and I are starting a tshirt type company and I saw the tutorial on screenprinting. The question I have is do you use India ink or just speedball ink like you would use when doing linoleum prints? Also, if you want to make shirts with designs (hand done, but with a little template) would you use this ink or t-shirt paint??

Thanks!!

Christine

HELP.

First thing that came in my mind when I ripped the shirt: this community. I need your help/input and I'm really desperate. Around 2 years ago, I got a shirt and did the whole iron-on transfer thing (way before I knew about stenciling :/) and the transfer got wrinkly/faded after a couple of wears, so I finally decided that I'll try whatever to get it off. I looked around memories and took advice, but the transfer did get more messed up-- not completely off. I tried washing it with fabric softner then and I guess I scrubbed it too hard I ripped it a little bit. :| Wa... I really like the shirt, how it fits.. so I feel really bad if I just throw it away. Maybe I can save it? Cover it up? If not, I'll just keep the fabric and use it for something. Boo.. iron ons :[ Thanks in advance. You guys are really creative, I'd love your opinions.

I have decided that wind shall be my undoing. ALso, Tuques never fit me. My "March Tuque" solves both these problems.

My new bag!

I currently have about 16 bags that I made hanging on the back of my door. It's gotten to the point where they get in the way when I try to close the door, and they swing to hit me in the face when I open the door from the outside. However, I made a new one this week!

not at all what I meant for it to look like, but still good. )

I wanted to share a photo essay with everyone of a project I just made tonight.* If you like it, maybe you could make it too, because it's super easy and quite cheap.

It started with a mystery box:

I just wanted to say a blanket sincere thank-you to everyone who responded to my last entry. I haven't had a chance to go back and reply to each comment because I've been hunched over this bracelet for three days. I'm trying to modify these to the point that I can complete them more quickly without compromising the design. I'm pretty happy with this one and it took just under three days of fairly steady work. It's not quite as wide and the edge is done a bit differently.
