I made another skirt, a shirt, and a necklace. I forgot to get decent pictures of the necklace, but it's okay because I fudged it up a little.

(first time posting):
I've made a couple varieties of earrings for sale.  Since they ARE for sale (which is a new development to my crafts):  I am trying to clean them up and make them look professional.  I'd like to show what I have so far and ask for your help with some problems?  My friends think I'm being too picky, but for business I feel like I have to be more careful.  Thank you for your help!

I am in possession of the world's ugliest skirt. Okay, so not quite, but it's not really that pretty. It's just a plain straight down skirt that goes to my knees, in sort of an odd colored couduroy fabric. It also has sort of a pleat in the front.

My question is this: Is there any way to turn a slightly too-big plain skirt into a plair of almost knee length shorts? Patterns or advice would be great!

Not mine, of course. My daughter's! Had to post it for cheers (or jeers) ...

Ok, so this isn't really crafty, but I'm kinda proud of it, so I thought I'd post. It's a dvd cover and label I made for a customer at work.

what do you think? (pic is 797x1046 - 93 K) )

I just booked a table at a school fun fair. The jewelry I make isn't really for kids. I'm looking for something simple I can make that kids would be interested in. I'm thinking bracelets made with plastic beads and that I'd sell them really cheap, like $2. That or give one free with every sale or something. What do you think?

Does anyone have any ideas for a cheap to make, but nice looking bracelet for kids?

Thanks.

Lots of new pendants to show under the cut eack pendant is make of paperclay then handpainted and wire wrapped with a silver wire with beads and colored wire to accent each pendant. I expecially love the crow pendant with all the iridescent colors :)

Greenman is 3 inches tall including the bail (2 1/2 inches tall with just the greenman) and 1 3/4 inches across

Looks like I may be peddling this summer on the streets of SoHo in NYC.

Has anyone sold jewelry in this neighborhood? Any tips? I'm thinking of displaying my stuff laid out on the table and on spare pieces of grapewood I have from keeping frogs and lizards.

Thoughts?

first post yay.

inspired by a mohawk hoodie someone posted here a while ago and by how cute horses are, i made a horse hoodie with a cream mane and ears to match. my sister models it below. the last picture is of my dog, who is very afraid of horses (she looks the other way, if she can't see them, they don't exist... right?)

i hope these links work, and if they don't, please bear with me, i'm new to this lj thing!

Don't look if you happen to be my swap partner for April over at [livejournal.com profile] full_moon_swaps, kay? XD

Since I finally uploaded pictures, this is going to be a photo dump of sorts. Stuff I've been working on, made, swapped, or whatever.

I just got a used 10x10 white tent with four walls for an event I'm doing next week. The whole thing was pretty dingy from use on the craft circuit. I scrubbed the walls with Magic Eraser and that seemed to eliminate a majority of the scuffs and dirt. We've tried cleaning the top with a bleach solution in the washer, but it's still dingy. There are some dirt and rust stains that are particularly tough.

The other problem that we have with cleaning is not having a large enough (clean) surface to spread it out. The house is too small and the lawn/driveway just add more dirt. *sigh*

Any advice on cleaning white vinyl surfaces? I'm looking for tried and true product and cleaning method suggestions.

Thanks!

I went to a bead store last weekend (three times, mind you) and stocked up on quite a bit of jewelry-making supplies, and here's what I managed to turn out on my first attempts. I still need to trim a few wires here & there, but considering I really had no idea what I was doing, I think they came out okay. :)

3 bracelets + 2 necklaces )

Any advice? Glaring mistakes? Yays? Boos? I'd love to hear 'em. I have a basic bead-stringing class I'm going to on the 20th so I'm trying to keep myself out of the bead store until then, but it's a very, very hard thing to do as I'm already addicted!

Hey grrls,
Sorry that this is text only, but I will post pics of finished products :)
I just recently scraped myself up pretty bad, and I'm on crutches. I own my own pair of crutches, but they desperately need covers for the armpit/hand spots. They are in excellent shape, I bought them new, but as most of your probably know, that padding smells terrible. I am looking to make covers, would anyone happen to have a tutorial that they know of, or any hints/tips? These covers can be mostly permanent or whatever, but it'd be nice to have an outer cover that I could wash.
I have a sewing machine, but I don't think I can use it because it's my left ankle and my right knee, so I don't think I could accurately use the pedal.
I'll be eternally greatful for any advice/hints/tips/tutorials.
Thanks everyone!

Edit: I don't mind hand sewing...heck, what else am I going to do? Hehehe

I made a hoodie last year & I lost it until now, but it's a weird cotton hoodie & shrunk when I washed it. Now it's too small & I can't find the same kind of letters in a craft store (they're iron-on).

I was thinking about cutting out the letters & re-sewing them on a new hoodie.

yo, ho! )
