I'm planning to "upholesting" my headboard bed frame. My boyfriend and I are doing chinese theme in our bedroom. I need to know what store or online do they have chinese fabrics? I'm sorry if I'm offend you by calling it chinese fabric. I have no idea what they're called. Anyway thank you for your help. I'll post a picture of my room when I'm done with it.

p.s I looked up in memories and all I found was fabric sites. It's not big help when I need to know which one that has chinese fabric. :/

Edited: Thank you all for your help. It was certain a big help from you all. I'm not one of those people who think chinese is all about dragon, bamboo, or this and that. I have been reading their culture, biography books, and needless to say I fell in love with their culture. Again, thank you!

I'm going to be selling my wares at my first craft fair this weekend! I was wondering if I could get some tips from y'all about how to best set up and run my table..

I will be getting a table, and I already have two display trees to hang my earrings on. But is there anything I'm forgetting or should prepare for?

I got this pattern at a garage sale a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to use it. The date of the pattern is 1995 but it seems baggy bags are in these days, too. I like how this turned out, and I plan to make more, especially one with a butterfly material (when I find one I like). I had this particular material in my stash for the outside of it...the liner is broadcloth. And the button was out of my button collection.

So, I'm really excited about these bags that I finished...but I can't post them in my lj. Two of the bags (the orange/yellow one and the star one) are surprises for my friends. haha. So I thought I'd share my joy and excitement over them here!

I have become obsessed with lawn ornaments since moving into my neighborhood, which is lousy with them. My favorites have always been the flamingos, and when I found some reasonably priced ones at a store, I decided to go for it. They're so easy to paint, so much fun to dress up. These are the first two I've completed. Now I'm working on a Last Supper made entirely of flamingos. I think it'll look great on our lawn...

I have made my friend a spherical monster for her birthday (I would be highly shocked if she follows this community). It was originally going to be an octopus, but it turned into a birthday monster instead. Lemme know whatchall think, it's in need of a name as well!

How do you guys always find out about these awesome craft shows? What am I missing? I would LOVE to go to some and support fellow crafters, but I never know when they are :0\

PS- I live in NJ. By the beach.

I want to do something for my son's room. I chose stencils over painting the whole walls. I found Elmo picture from Sesame Streets' website, enlarged it and then, print it. This is how I did it in stencil by using a freezer paper, arylcis paints, and a regular blade. I'm done with Elmo, but there's going to be more stencils to do in his room later. I don't want to do everything in one day. I would like to work on it everyday, so I could have something to do.

Emo? Nooo, I say Elmo! )

I found this red tube top in my mom's closet a while ago but it was way too boring. Andrew is a stencil and everything else is freehand.

I decided to paint more than just octopus. I did fairies, and butterflies, and other fun stuff. I put these up on the e site and two sold within an hour!

Ok, I have a question. Does anyone here buy bulk heavy duty snaps online? If so could you provide with me links?

So this isn't just a text post, new cuffs... many are offensive. )

perhaps this is a totally nutty question, but i am such a beginner sewer. is it looney to think that i can make a small messenger style bag (for carrying a small notebook and/or book and keys, wallet while biking to the library, because my big backpack is too much and my purse doesn't go on my back) by only hand sewing?

i know it probably won't be sturdy enough, but i have this fabric i am dying to use, no sewing machine, and no funds in sight to buy one anytime soon. so, crush my hopes if they need crushing, or tell me you've done this before and how to make it work! thanks!

So, I need spending money for the summer, but I can't drive and I live in the boonies. Also, I'm lazy. So I was thinking hey, why not sell jewelry? And I spent all evening yesterday making earrings. But, you see, I'm not sure about any of them--so that's where you craftgrrls come in. If you could tell me what you think of the designs and the colors and charms before I go blundering into the world of crafty sales, I'd really appreciate it!

150KB of pictures behind this cut. But in exchange for slow loading, I offer you eight pairs of earrings. And astronauts! )

Thanks for looking!

My friends wants me to sew him a purple velvet pillow with golden letters that say 'Satisfaction' on it for his birthday. My only question is, what can I use to put the words on velvet? Wouldn't paint crack and look terrible against it? I dunno, any suggestions would be awesome!

I'm all ready to stencil a t-shirt with a stencil I cut from thin plastic. However, I have no spray adhesive and it seems crazy to buy a big can for one little stencil. Has anyone ever used anything else besides spray adhesive to adhere a stencil onto fabric securely? It would have to wash out of a t-shirt, of course. Any suggestions welcome!

Now, for crafty pictures! Radical tees for babies in-the-know, and polka-dotted dishes ahead... )

Hey! So, I rarely post, but I thought better late then never. For some reason the good weather makes me more productive. I have a wallet, an apron, some jewlry, and a change purse to show off. Warning, though, it's pretty photo heavy :-)

So, to anyone who noticed the request for buttonhole-help earlier, problem solved. My wonderful, craft-supporting boyfriend who has never touched a sewing machine before fixed the issue. *SQUEE*! Anyways, onto the finished product!!
