I'm going to put my question behind a cut, because I tend to be longwinded, and there is no reason all you people who have no interest in quilting should have to scroll through my babbling.

QUESTION of the DAY... for me. )

Any and all help would be welcomed and much appreciated.

I'm almost completed my first resin casting project, and am pretty excited how it all turned out. It's a pretty boring project, but there might be some tips that are useful to others.
lots of nerdy pictures )

Hey, all... I need to borrow someone's brilliant idea!

I'm making Halloween cookies for a bake sale. The cookies are going to be shaped like bones, and I thought it would be a cute idea to package them, three or four to a box, in little "coffin" boxes. I was just going to spray them black and then paint a cross on the top. The problem is that I can't think what I might use for a coffin

Any idea what kind of box or container I could use for a coffin? I'd need about 25 of them, and don't want to spend much money on them. I was trying to think of inexpensive food products that are sold in coffin-ish boxes, but I'm coming up blank.

Our old computer finally bit the dust, taking with it all the web sites I had saved. I looked through the archives but didn't see the post I was looking for. A few months ago someone asked for suggestions of favorite crafting websites. If you remember that post please post it again or just tell me your favorite sites. Thanks!

Last week sometime I posted these hats I'd made. A couple of people requested a tutorial, so I've gone and made a rather dodgy and extremely confusing one. I hope those who wanted it can get the basic gist of what I'm on about.

Tutorial Ahead! )

I was getting tired of trying to find my eye drops, chap stick, band-aids, tissues, and powdered aspirin which all seem to hide at the bottom of my purse, so i decided to make a fall-ish cowgirl-ish makeup bag!

snip snap )

also does anyone have any clue what one could knit for somebody who lives in hawaii? i'm visiting my boyfriend's mother and her partner in hawaii around christmas, and i want to make them something nice. but the problem is, i really only knit (the above project was done while visiting family members with a sewing machine). and wool doesn't seem like something that's very popular in hot weather. maybe YOU live in hawaii? maybe you live in hawaii and KNIT? maybe you've got an idea? i sure don't.

Does anyone know where I can get giant-sized plastic Easter eggs this time of year? And when I say giant, I mean GIANT. Like notebook paper-sized. It's for my Halloween costume. I'm trying to make a papier-mache egg using a balloon, and it is just not sturdy at all.

I promise I'll post pictures when the costume's done. :)
