Okay, I got the treadle going, but now it's doing something strange. After, several days of fiddling with the bobbin thread and finally being informed that it makes a difference whether it's clockwise or counter, I finally got it to work. Now it's doing something strange. It won't make stitches. They're coming through just fine and it's going through the motions, but the thread isn't actually being sewn into the fabric. What's going on? What do I do?

I painted some new faces for pendants and I LOVE how they turned out, I used a high gloss finish on the first three and I love how it makes them look. It gives the metalic paints an extra pop that make them look almost like glass. Also below ere a few other newer faces (I LOVE how the third eye piece turned out!) and the xmas black pug was fun.

I revamped a beret that I knit junior year and neverever wore! It took forever to make (tiny yarn on tiny circulars, complete hell) and then turned out fairly unwearable, hello dissapointing:( It was too big and droopy, and just sort of oddly-shaped...it made my head look like a mushroom.

TODAY though, I got help measuring my forehead and used plastic canvas (that plastic mesh that old ladies make really ugly ornaments and things out of) to form a banana-shaped bill, then sewed it under the edge of the hat. I love it so much now!

Excuse the silly face!

I've been browsing http://www.knitpicks.com/ for weeks now because it looks so delicious and beautiful and I'm itching to make scarves and hats for lots of people. Plus I really like the idea of using 100% wool cos it sounds fancy and luxurious!

But my mom keeps saying real wool is scratchy. :(

Other then the modal, cotton and silk,  I don't know exactly what the textures of the other yarns would be as I've only ever used acrylic yarns before.
I've been leaning towards the  Wool of the Andes 100% Peruvian Highland Wool for the colour choice but don't want to order a bunch and find out it's worse then a brillo pad.

Can someone give me a rundown on a few of the differences in feel? Anything I should avoid? I want to make things that are snuggly!

fourth one I've made. I was a bit worn out so less imaginitive and I completely stole ideas from previously made books (found in the memories section) with the exception of the llama and the lion. So I must give major props and thanks to the ladies who posted their ideas for me to copy! I whipped it up in just a couple weeks at work (it's been slow as heck so I had plenty of time!). And I gave it to the mommy last Friday, she loved it. :)

My favorite is the cover. I found the image online and decided to do my best to freehand it onto the felt. I still think Collin looks weird with two "L"s but I had fun making the Llama. THanks to all who gave input on what to put in the upper right corner!!

Guess what guess what guess what?!?!?!?!

Ok, I went into Barnes & Nobel today with my husband...yeah, we're not even thru the second set of doors when I spot this knitting kit for -dog sweaters-.

Mind you, I don't knit. I have not clue how, but he bought it for me, we went and got yarn and now I am learning. And get this...I don't even own a freakin dog!

BUT, the kit came with wooden needles. THEY MAKES ME WANT TO POKE MYSELF IN THE EYE! I need metal ones I think because it's too hard to learn on these when the yarn doesn't move around much.

anyway, if you gals have any tips for beginners, or websites with video tutorials that would be AWESOME.

I'm very excited about this new hobby and want to excell all it but I need your help and support! Right now I am learning the first step of casting and I gotta say...was not finding it very easy. I know how to do it now, but yeah, the wood needles are driving me up the wall.

So keep your fingers crossed that I can figure out my first stitched row without breaking these sticks. They are so cute too with dogs on the ends. Very fun.

Ok, off to practice. Thanks for reading my excitement post!
