I have some really cute antique transfers that I got from my grandmother and would like to apply them to tea towels. My question is, where do I get tea towels? I tried Jo-anns but they did not have them there. I am looking for the flour sack style ones.
Any suggestions?

I want to decorate some canvas sneakers (like Converse, but not sweatshop made) with a Dylon fabric marker, but the marker instructions tell me: "To fix the colour, cover the designed area with a clean cotton cloth and iron on a very hot setting for 1-2 minutes."

I'm guessing this would be nigh on impossible to do given that it's shoes and not a flat surface I'm decorating. Will not fixing it matter since I won't be machine washing the shoes? Or do you think that I'll be walking in the rain one day and the designs will run?

Any advice would be much appreciated :o)

Figured I'd post this for crafty types to see, in case they might want to use a design or length of it in some of their crafting.

In either case... this will be LJ-cut, since there's 11 images, and each are about 60k )

So yeah... there ya go. Enjoy :}

I've made two quite different necklaces this week that I'm really happy with.

Necklace #1
Closeup of Necklace #1
Another closeup of Necklace #1
Necklace #2

Another closeup of Necklace #2
Closeup of the matching earrings

Note - the earrings were sitting flat and not hanging in the pics. They do hang nicely of course!

Not sure where these are going, I might hold onto them for awhile as I need to start getting stock for spring/summer craft fairs.

The Inspiration
I made a bag to go with the holidays.  I was actually bored one night at my parents house.

We had a black out at our house, so I went to my parents house and needed something to do.  I took my mom's table cloth and built on it.  She said she wouldn't let me cut it up so I took some paper and traced a few of the designs and then it went from there.  It is still a work in progress, but here is what it is right now.  I want to add a clasp or a button and also a stitching line to hold my pen in the front pocket inside the flap.

It isn't wonky like the pictures show, it is mostly the way I photgraphed it.  Maybe some classes are in order. :)

And all this because I was bored and everything I needed to so was at my house and needed electricity in a very dark house.  I hate blackouts, but they do have some ups.

Question: does anyone know if i can 'paint' resin onto some wood pendants im making to coat and soften the edges a bit? the brushes i use are natural hairs, but can i use plastic as well? im SO new to resin!

(i searched the memories and found nothing on this technique, only posts about casting with molds.)

***EDIT*** also, can you put resin over solder? the lead free solder.

So I bought some of those heavy duty snaps and the tools that come with it (a peice of round metal and two metal sticks) and the instructions as to how to install them didnt tell me anything. They didnt name the parts or anything, it was just "put this here and that there and do this" and im like, whoa.

So my question is, does anyone know of a tutorial online that shows how to install them? Or can anyone be really sweet and make me a quick tutorial (with pictures!). Thanks guys. You are my saviors.

Here are some of my new face pendants, these are the standard size that i usually do and the first ones I have done in a bit and I am really happy with how they turned out. THe paintings are more detailed and more intricate and make it harder to notice the face that they are painted on but I kind of like it that you notice the painting then after looking at it for a bit notice that it is painted on a clay face.

This is a new crow pendant handpainted and done in a satin finish, I love how the swirls around the crow turned out. It almost has a celtic feel to it, Size is approximately 2.25” (incl. bail) x 1.75” across.
